They swept TCU.

I don't know how good of a team TCU has this year, but historically they are very good. That's a pretty strong showing.

How can every other poll have us in the Top 5 and yet baseball America we are #9 when FOUR teams ranked ahead of us lost games this past weekend.

They also have Louisville at number 4, when some polls don't even has them ranked, so take that for what it's worth.

Because beating a pretty lousy ACC school 3 times doesn't necessarily catapult you to the top of the rankings. They are week one baseball rankings. They don't mean a hell of a lot.

Forgive me, as I'm a new fan of college baseball. But has a team ever gone undefeated in recent history? I know you're kidding about us going undefeated, but I'd be interested in knowing the last time that happened, if ever.

Anyone who has played baseball on any level will tell you that going undefeated just isn't logical. There's so many elements that go into a baseball game that are always factored in. Baseball is a strange game. You can be crushing the ball 6 games in a row and walk up to the plate in the 8th inning and not get another hit for a week. Mental aspects of the game will never allow a team to go undefeated. Think about the MLB.... Going 100-62 is a damn good season. Losing 62 games is considered a great year.

I understand they dont mean a lot and beating Maryland isnt really great, but look who Vandy and USCe and some of the other teams lost to. Teams worse than Maryland.

Well one poll had us number 1 to start the season and kept us there because we swept. It's all about where you start in preseason for the early polls.

New to college baseball? The polls mean absolutely nothing.
