Baseball polls are pointless. I will never understand their lopsidedness.

Just keep winning Tigers!

Well they really DON'T matter...they don't matter in RPI rankings and they don't matter when it comes to post-season seeding in regionals.

Forgive me, as I'm a new fan of college baseball. But has a team ever gone undefeated in recent history? I know you're kidding about us going undefeated, but I'd be interested in knowing the last time that happened, if ever.

Going back to 1947, when the CWS began, no team has gone unbeaten.

The greatest winning percentage in the history NCAA baseball was in 1972 when Arizona State when 64-6.

The most wins in a single season was in 1982 when Wichita State won 73 games.

Not even close in the last 25 years.

These days it is very rare for even the top teams to have single digit losses.

Back in the 80's-90's, teams like Miami used to put up records like 52-5 in the regular season, and that was thought to be astronomical.

Skip Bertman averaged 18.3 losses per season.

The fewest losses for any of LSU's 6 national title teams is 13.

Well given the current restriction of 56 games per year, I would say that record is going to stand for a while.

I wonder who in the hell they played so many times to get that many games in? (going to do the research now...)
