Our entire offensive philosophy is built to play and compete against the Gumps. Btw they think the same way.
Both schools deep down understand that they must beat the other to get to the show, its been that way since the day Saban became the coach there.
Recently their QB play has been the difference, we must get better QB play or we will continue to come up a bit short. ( See New OC )

Every game i can remember except that one in new orleans couldve gone either way since Saban took over there.

We beat them 2 yrs ago at their place and if it werent for them lucking out we wouldve played Okie State in New orleans that nite. 14-0 nat'l champs and if we hold them on that last drive last yr all this bama domination is now LSU domination. It really is just that close.
If and buts dont pay the bills, I give them credit for winning the more important game when given the chance and finding a way to win last yr when completely dominated.
But other than QB play the last few yrs we are every bit as strong as they are if not more so.
So please dont get it twisted Alabama knows when they play LSU they get tested physically more than any other team and vice versa.

Clearly the two best programs in college football for the last 4-5 yrs are these two and a break either way wouldve redefined history.

not sure just giving their record is fair just yet. Sabans first few years should be viewed differently as he had just become HC. I will look at their record after say 8-10 years.

its already been 6. Although it loks like saban won 2 of first 3 matchups, so id only take out year 1. making it 2-4 in favor of Saban. Not really something to put in Miles favor, but some coaches have less.

Saban has been HC since 1990 with Toledo.

Is any coach on a way to beat Saban 100% of the time? I'll take one that's .500 against him...gonna be sweet when we win next year.

Till the stars align for Bama and they somehow jump us in the polls after our Heisman winning quarterback and runner-up running back (Mettenberger and Hill) win us the SEC championship by a large margin. En route to a perfect record as well as blowing out aTm Florida and Georgia. And breaking JFF's back sidelining him for the rest of his career. And they play in the National Championship and win for an unprecedented 3rd straight Natty. While we go to the Chicken Bowl again and squeak out a win.

Did u see the "stupid" moves in the last Tuscaloosa game by little Nicky? Les was the best coach that nite. How bout the one the Ole Miss coach pulled last yr against the Aggies?

Les has made some questionable decisions, no one is denying that but he's also made some great decisions. Went for it like 5 times against Fla on 4th down and got it every time. Do u not think the players were excited about a coach that has that much trust in them? When have u seen that?
Fake FG against those same Gators.
I wont get into all his terrific game time decisions because this board only remembers his poor decisons. But here a few good decisions for LSU that Miles has made, just to keep it real.

Not leaving for Michigan for more money, easier to win at and btw just his dream job.
Getting Chavis here
Getting Cameron here.
Whats his record against Nicky?
The list goes on and on just look for what he's doing right, you'll see plenty.
How many SEC coaches have a longer tenure than him? This is a tough conference to coach in, it is not for the weak, See Urban Meyer.
This conference will tap u on your back one yr and terminate u the next.
Chizik
Phillips
Nutt
Meyer
Croom
Petrino different reasons but still gone.
Even Mark Richt's seat was hot as hell two yrs ago.
There are very few coaches that can produce and endure 10 straight years in the SEC. Stability of a program is so underrated.
One day everyone will understand just how fortunate we are that Miles is our HC.

Saban did not beat Les... Les beat himself with all the stupid calls and run up the middle and not developing a QB....not to mention sticking with JJ

He certainly saw the need for an OC even without input from the rant or maybe he read the rant and figured everyone was right.

You really think "the rant" is relevant in Les Miles world?

Unfortunately I think many on here do believe that an irrelevant internet forum such as this really does affect the decisions made by college coaches.

THIS IS FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY!!

At least this part of your post is true.
Bama players outplayed LSU players that night, and you might as well dwi.
There aren't any gameplans that will work if you can't control LOS on the majority of your offensive downs.
Just ask any one of the 12 other teams that played LSU that year.

I think Spurrier, Sumlin and Richt are the only current ones to have beaten Saban at all (besides Miles). And only Spurrier has done it as many times as Miles (none have done it more, I think).

Really? Isn't like we didn't outplay them last season. Regardless of play calls we had the lead. It was a missed tackle by a freshman in the end. Tackle made and there is no "dynasty".

It won't be the first time for Les to beat him nor the last. Also, I can't wait for defenses to stack the box on LSU with Cameron as OC. Should be interesting to see the adjustments that are going to be made that LSU fans have been waiting a few years to see!!!

Best way to beat Bama is to pass on them...and to catch them cheating in recruiting...

Poor QB play has limited the plays that can be called!
