seen in my previous paddle question thread, acquired this pirogue from my dad, plan on dusting the cobwebs off of it and get some hunting and fishing done.
I plan on painting it OD green, with black stencil. Putting a fixed mount brown seat on the back, and a removable seat base up front with brown seat, and a flush mount rod holder in the top of the seat base.I am thinking about looping and riveting a couple of 2" straps for gun, rod, and paddle storage.
If the OB doesn't mind, I will update this thread as I make progress with this project.
As it sat.
Stripped and Removed tons of suite
Headed to shop
Sanded and primed left side
Sanded and primed back and right side (Had to knock off a mountain if resin from a terrible repair attempt someone left me with)
Stencil I will be using
Next is to sand and prime seat bases, fill a few holes in on the nose, and paint.

Thanks everyone. I will update soon when I get some progress made. I'm up in NWLA so if I ever make it down south I'll look into dropping it in down there. I'm hoping to get with a few NWLA OB ers and catch some fish soon. In November it should be deadly on the ducks.

On closer inspection both boats i first pick are original Skeeter bass boats

Looks like a good project.

I'm glad you said that, I can't figure out anything about the history of the boat. Looks like an old Skeeter or maybe a Pro Gator "lil gator".
I will update tomorrow with the prepped seat bases, hoping to be completely finished by next weekend. I just hope this thing isn't going to be a bitch to paddle, but I will find out soon. At the time, registration is not an option, so no motors at all.
I am looking at a 96 inch "Shoreline Marine" paddle, it's only $35, but I just want something to get the job done.
Paddle
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know, I appreciate the interest and won't let the OB down

Congrats on the kid!
If you have family close you may be able to hunt.
Thanks for the paddle link too, I may get that one also.

Thanks man I'm pretty excited!
Primed the seat bases and first coat of olive went on tonight. I will paint another coat of olive tomorrow, followed by the stencil. I have zero patience so I tested the stencil out just to sand it off for more green underneath. I also have a few holes to fill up front, trying to figure out the most efficient way.

Congrats on the baby.
No you won't.
For clarification, is that a p-row or p-rog?
Looking good.

Thanks slick, as for the clarification, I have no clue. Looks like an old Super Skeeter but has the lines of a Pro Gator "lil gator". No history on it, just hope it paddles well since I have no papers to put a motor on.
