Not much talk of Jarvis Jones lately by scouts. What if he falls to us?

This latest mock by NFL.com has him going to us at #15. Most have him falling because of medical concerns. Personally, I would love this pick. He could be the superstar pass-rusher we need.

Lots of people have him sliding down to the middle of the first round lately. Something about a spinal issue, and his workouts.

Walterfootball has him at 16 or 17. I saw this yesterday and was thinking no way the Saints pick Dion Jordan over Jones.

Of the OLB's who might be there for the Saints, Mingo and Jones are the only 2 guys I would pick. This is the first time I even realized Jones might be there. If those 2 guys aren't there, go with safety or OT.

He'll probably shoot back up draft boards after individual workouts

or, he'll fall even more because teams get scared away. but I'm thinking he'll check out well enough for a team in the top 5-10

Supposedly one of the reasons people think he will fall is because he isn't expected to look good in workouts. Word is he's not a guy who looks great in practices, but goes nuts on game day.

From Walterfootball

quote:

2013 NFL Draft Stock Down Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia

Scouts at the East-West Shrine told WalterFootball.com that Jones would slide on draft day because they believe he will test poorly before the 2013 NFL Draft and isn't a hard worker in the weight room. The scouts said that watching the game tape, Jones is worthy of being a top draft pick, but they don't believe he will go that high.

The NFL draft has been known to unnecessarily knock down good players over questionable concerns. That could be the case with Jones as he was one of the best players in college football the past two seasons. Jones amassed 85 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 24.5 tackles for a loss, seven forced fumbles, three passes broken up and one interception in 2012. He had 13.5 sacks, 70 tackles with 19.5 tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles in 2011.

There are other issues with Jones (6-3, 241) as some believe he will check in at the combine much smaller than his listed measurements. Some teams may make a big deal out of the neck injury that caused him to transfer from USC to Georgia. While Jones' college tape indicates he's a top-five pick, it sounds like he could fall into the middle of the first round.

Shanle's a workout warrior? I just figured as many others did that he had secret photo's of someone lol.

First someone brings up Steve Smith, now Shanle. Worst day of my life.

I don't think that's a fair thing to say. Didn't he leave Bc everyone at USC was allowed to leave if they wanted due to sanctions?
