How long is this game? I just took out the Alien Base. I'm sure that I'm not too far into it. I had to prolong that for awhile because I didn't have enough engineers to make the key.

Word to the wise you need to research some upgrades to your planes. It's frustrating as shite when you build a raven and load it up with weapons to have it shot down. Blee dat.

I usually abort in time. Those damn flying saucer things that have the little support drones are kicking my arse.

I want to say there are three sections like the alien base where you can pass time before attacking a static objective.

I second guy who said invest in aircraft, make sure to equip the Ravens with up to date shite and have a few of the combat boosts ready to go, because failing to stop a ship will screw you with the panic increase. I swear whenever I am upgrading weapons (it takes a day) I am sweating buckets because of how fricked you are if aircraft isn't ready to go.

Also it's absurd how understated the importance of satellites are, always have one or two satellites queued up and two ready to launch at any time. They are crucial to preventing countries from getting high panic before a council report. Also, when you don't attack an objective like the alien base the game difficulty will continue to ramp up regardless of whether you progress the story.

Been working like crazy recently and haven't played anything in like two weeks.

So I'm really looking forward to starting this game over this three day weekend. If Yahtzee gave it a good review, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it.

It is addictive and frustrating. You really do have to work on your tactics and adapt.

Nah, it was a good stopgap between a rookie when one if my better guys gets injured, but it takes forever to get repaired.

I saw where I could repair it with an arch thrower. If I can use it a few times it makes the SHIV and someone carrying the AT a tough team.

I don't think in game heals or repairs reduce recovery time. I've had guys get revived from critical wounds and back to full health and they are still out weeks in strategy mode.

I'm cool with that. As long as I can get through the mission. I have enough soldiers.

Green man gaming has this for $16 today. Decided to take the plunge to try it out.

I'm hoping it is similar to the old classic.

I could've pointed you in the direction of a library that would let you check it out for free. Good game though. Enter these names for custom names if you want to cheat:

Joe Kelly
Ken Levine
Otto Zander
Sid Meier
