Sorry if this was already posted... dont have time to read all posts to see if it was.

We lost out on resigning him last year because of cap situation but he should be cheaper this year since he lost his starting job in Denver.......

I think he has some medical issues. Otherwise, he'd be starting in Denver still.

We would probably have to cut CW and JP to afford him along with him taking a paycut. Yes, I would take his 10 games a year, maybe 12 if he was a backup.

Yes, but he had been fighting seizures for most of the season and got a concussion later in the year. I don't know how much of a career he'll have going forward.

hopefully that was altitude related.

We had a chance to sign him to a cheap long term deal last year and chose not to. I doubt we'll see him signed unless it is for cheap

he signed a 1 year contract 4mil with denver. with his injuries and issues built up last year along with the years with the saints where he always missed a few games I think he comes a bit cheaper than 4mil a year.

I imagine if the saints really wanted him back, he'd come back home, but we're strapped for cash too. Maybe a 2yr/5mil contract or so.

The man who is responsible for two of the biggest highlights in the Saints Super Bowl postseason will always be welcomed back (and he's even from Port Allen, LA). But, health issues are the biggest roadblock.

He gets hurt a lot. I don't know what the actual numbers are but it seems like he misses seven or eight games a year.

for 2mil a year, I'd take him for 8 games over any of the db's we have minus greer. he can cover well and has a knack to create turnovers without getting burned a whole lot.

Yes, matter a fact Ryan Clark of Pittsburg sits out the game every time they play IN denver.

When the Steelers open their season against the Broncos on Sunday night, Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark will not play because of the health risks imposed by Denver's high altitude.

I would say that if we can get Porter for a good price, get him.

I thought Ryan Clark's reason was his Sickle Cell Trait.

well they couldn't figure out why he was having seizures so they said it may be related to the altitude. No idea if it actually is though

This is what I thought as well. Persons with Sickle Cell are prone to splenic infarction when in high altitudes.
Basically the oxygen to the spleen can be interrupted, causing the tissues to die.
Pretty risky stuff.
