I have always thought Boeheim was a smug a-hole...this further confirms that. No need to air your dirty laundry in public...especially after you just loss. No class.

Apparently its over the James Southerland suspension. James and Katz were speaking off the record and Katz reported what James told him about the situation later that night on air at the Syracuse Villanova game. If you are a reporter and given access to a kid in that situation and you report something that was told in confidence well yeah you are an idiot. At least that's the story around the Syracuse media people right now.

If this is true in a way it says oddly nice things about Boeheim being trusting of people.

This is surprising considering that Katz is a pretty well respected journalist. Boeheim should have kept his mouth shut even if his comments were off the record. Nothing is "off the record" these days with Deadspin and Twitter sources breaking rumors without editorial oversight.
Regardless Boeheim needs to keep his kids in line, so that these stories don't even occur.
