I was actually sad to see him go. I know he probably wouldn't have played, but he seemed like a good guy that put forth the effort. Best of luck to him.

Hope he really tears shite up at Tulane. I think he could be a havoc against C-USA teams.

Always thought he might not be a bad Nose Tackle somewhere.

Any reason why he didn't succeed at LSU?

Two reasons, IMO. First, he came from a very small school and physically dominated in high school. The transition to the next level was tough for him, I think, where others were as physically developed as him. Second, Chavis likes his one-gap DTs rather than two-gap space cloggers.

He seemed like a serviceable offensive tackle, but he got passed over in favor of Dworaczyk and maybe even Jerald Hawkins last season once Faulk went down. It is now his last season and I'm sure he just wants to play. I don't blame him in the least and I appreciate what he has done for LSU.

He also played REALLY high, and being tall himself, that's a huge no-no for a DT. All his size/strength were neutralized with how high he shot off the snap.

Good point. I think that's a big reason why he was moved to offense.

Will he be moving back to the defensive side at Tulane or will he stay at OT?

Pretty sure he's going to be back on defense for Tulane.

Dude was a character, he would just burst out singing random inappropriate songs while walking around. You could tell he took a lot of pride being on the football team, it's just a shame his career didn't pan out.

Just out of curiosity I looked up our last successful transfer (whether they left by choice, were "medicaled" or were booted off) and found out it was Cordian Hagans. He transferred from LSU after 2009 season and ended up at ULL. Sat our 2010, moved to DT in their 3-3-5/3-4 hybrid for 2011 and was meh with just 18 tackles, 2 TFL. Then this last season exploded for 41 tackles, 8.5 TFL and 5 sacks which is a very good season for a DT.
