So Durant is the better shooter is what you're saying, but LeBron is better at every other aspect of the game. Fact.

Actually, Durant has been the better defender this year. So LeBron is the slightly better rebounder (8.1 to 7.6 per game) and the slightly better passer.

Scoring and defense are the two most important aspects of basketball and Durant is better than LeBron at both.

Not really, but okay.

You're ridiculous.

Anyway, LeBron, Durant, and CP3 are the only candidates, and it's LeBron's to lose at this point. But there's a lot of time left to play in the year. So who knows what will happen.

NBA.com has CP3 behind both Melo and Parker

Fox Sports has Melo and Parker ahead of CP3 as well

This race is far from over.

Statistically, he is. You got proof to the contrary?

What stats are you looking at to say Durant is a better defender? They average the same amount of steals and Durant averages half a block more a game. You sounding like Serge Ibaka and Reggie Evans

ETA: actually 0.3 more blocks a game

Already posted it. Durant has a better Defensive Rating (101 to LeBron's 102) and has more Defensive Win Shares (3.0 to 2.6).

it's either lebron or durant, if you take them away their teams would be a relatively average middle of the pack playoff team. I'd give advantage to lebron since he's just having an all around great year. Hell I'd honestly give it 1a and 1b that's how good they are.

what you gonna say wade/bosh gonna carry the heats? do you guys not remember how miami with just wade? or just a bosh-raptors?

imagine russell westbrook chucking up 25-30shots a game instead of his 19ish, you think that'd lead to wins?

Anyways, MVP =/= Best player. Let's be honest, if you replaced LeBron with say, Paul Pierce/Rudy Gay/Paul George, the Heat would have what? 1-3 less wins? They'd still be first in their division and just behind New York in the East.

I like both Durant and Lebron, but I'd have to say Durant is my favorite player in the league. So I'll say this: Durant is an unbelievable scorer this year. This article breaks down just how good of a season he's having. Lebron's jumper has gotten better but it's not up to Durant's level. On the other hand, Lebron is a much better defender than Durant and I don't think it's very close. Durant has definitely improved his D the past few years but LBJ can defend 1-5. And LBJ is a much better passer. We're lucky to be able to see these two incredible talents though

Durant's better. Numbers prove it.

Can and doing it are two different things. Sure LeBron could defend Dwight or Westbrook for a couple of possessions a game, but all game? Lol no.

No.

He did it through out the playoffs en route to a championship. Heck Durant didn't even guard him in the finals. Durant guarded Chalmers one game and Chalmers had the best game of his career.

I like stats as much as the next guy but if you're telling me you'd rather have Durant guarding an opposing team's best player in the last 5 minutes of a game over LBJ then I'd have to disagree.
