The only acceptable answer in my book is Lebron. He's having an even better year than last year.

Plus, don't even get me started on his last 5 games. Probably the best 5 games of his career.

there is absolutely no debate

if someone else gets it, then it will just be for the sake of letting someone else win one

Happened two years ago.

A shame, really. We were denied history.

Keep in mind it's MOST VALUABLE player, not BEST player. Too early for me. Kobe has been dragging the Lakers, Durant has been absurd this year, and Melo has been the Knicks offense this year.

How? Rose was easily the MOST VALUABLE player in the league.

The real shame was Nash winning over Kobe two years in a row when he had Marion, Amare, Joe Johnson, and Quentin Richardson. Not to mention role players like Raja Bell and Boris Diaw. Meanwhile, Kobe was dragging starting line-ups that featured Chris Mihm, Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, and Brian Cook to the playoffs.

Anybody but lebron getting it would be a complete sham. He's far and away the best player in the league. And that pains me to say. I'm not a Lebron guy. It's just the truth.

does that necessarily make him the most valuable, though? you could make an argument either way.

the clippers without Chris Paul have been absolute trash. CP3 should be right up there, IMO.

LeBron has to win it this year. I hate how voters give it to players who aren't the best in the game just to do it. Then guys like Kobe and LeBron end up retiring without enough MVPs.

One guy who has not been mentioned is James Harden. He is playing out of his mind lately.

His February has been LeBron-esque.

4 games, 27.5 PPG, 9.0 APG, 8.0 RPG, 2.0 SPG, 63% FG, 65% 3-point FG

actually, it was lebron and then howard

lebron was only denied MVP b/c of 2 things

1. anti-lebron sentiment from the decision
2. a desire by the media to give the award to somebody other than lebron. rose got the chicago media behind him and voila, he won instead of the most deserving non-lebron candidate (howard)

Yes

He's far and away the best

He's the best player in the league, but let's not act like he's doing stuff that hasn't been done before. What Durant is doing is incredible too and he can score efficiently from anywhere on the court, which LeBron can't do.

Anyways, MVP =/= Best player. Let's be honest, if you replaced LeBron with say, Paul Pierce/Rudy Gay/Paul George, the Heat would have what? 1-3 less wins? They'd still be first in their division and just behind New York in the East.
