I don't get how sometimes the writers try to tame the brutal aspects of the comic apart from the show in these situations. Just when I think I agree rape and castration is probably too much for basic cable, they go ahead and bash a head like a rotting pumpkin.

Bashing heads in and gore is way better than showing rape and castration. IMO. No one likes to see rape. The gore they show killing zombies is pretty awesome. If it was people they could not show it as graphic as they do.

This return episode was a disjointed piece of garbage.

That's not my issue...I know it's only been a short time. My thing is (like someone said earlier) that he did the whole phone call shite and was hallucinating and going crazy and all that, and then they made a point to show us that he came out of all that and was okay. Why show us that if he's still crazy? We think he's over the whole "going nuts" angle because they specifically showed us that he was.

That is exactly what I told my wife last night. I dont understand what is the point of showing us he got over his crazy, then to just show us again he is crazy.

yeah, it doesn't make any sense. I wish we were over this "Rick's going crazy" angle, but oh well.

I'm just speculating, but it seems since Rick is going crazy again, he's going to go out of the prison by himself and I guess do the whole rampage on zombies again. In the previews for next episode, Daryl was saying let him go with what I assume is Rick's gun pointed at Merle. So I'm guessing while Rick is out, he finds Daryl and Merle, which leads to them being surrounded by zombies on the bridge that was in the previews.

Rick seems to be losing it again because he's been placed under a lot of stress. Lori is dead, his baby daughter cries every time she's in his arms, Daryl just deserted the group, Glenn is in open revolt, and now Rick has to make a big decision regarding the new arrivals into the prison. On top of all that...he's just started a war with a man who outnumbers him and outguns him.

I think all of that newly added pressure finally got to him, thus causing him to hallucinate once again.

Add to it the lack of sleep from the raid the night before and anyone would lose it.

The thing I took from this episode is that Lori is still a count, even after she is dead.

Wow. 12.3 million watching a mid-season premiere on a cable network. That's impressive.

It was a strange episode. Merle isn't someone I'd be throwing my lot in with. I've got some crazy close kin folk I wouldnt trust with a butter knife with my back turned. You love em but you learn to let them go.

You have to love Maggie. Bitch shower her titties to like two people and she's having a nervous breakdown about it.

Glen has been emasculated, is what his problem is. Being with a strong willed female is something that is bound to cause conflict with someone insecure.

The stress on Rick combined with lack of sleep I'm sure is having an affect. But I will say this...

Nothing's wrong with Rick...he's just got Space Dementia... somebody will get that

Last night's episode for one. But if you read English, you'll see that I don't think it has jumped the shark but rather expressed hope that it hasn't.

Wait what? Why is it so unbelievable that there are a couple of things that trigger Rick's craziness? When he's out fighting Zombies, obviously his mind is in a different state and focused on survival. When he's at the prison and sees Carl and the new baby, it makes sense that feelings and thoughts that he pushed away while fighting zombies have now resurfaced.

I guess nobody is remembering his Shane hallucination. It still affects him. And it got Oscar killed.

this.

Anyone not able to see that the phone scene wasn't the end, but the just the beginning of Rick's breakdown doesn't understand how the story is told.

I'm already tired of the Governor storyline. This episode was a letdown for me. Hopefully the next episode will be better.
