Thats one bird that even the bird watchers think should be thinned out. They dont like that they kill the trees. Let them start nesting in a tree and their shite is so toxic that it will kill it.

When I was a young lad my uncle gave me and a friend two 223 rifles. Told us he would supply the bullets if we would go lay on his catfish pond levees and kill them. We used to have a blast.

Louisiana used to let you shoot them. See the above license.

Probably should edit.

I have a "buddy" that shot one several years ago and when he went to stomp it in the mud realized it had a band on it.

That one never got called in.

That's all I want to add to this thread. I didn't know they were protected. I may or may not have shot a lot of them.

I won't dare shoot one in the open but I may or may not have cut a few in the woods when they flew over too close before. Way too many of them killing all our fish down south. I've seen the water red with blood when they gang up and chase fish. As a kid it was always funny to make a wintertime trip to Toledo Bend and see the piles of dead cormorants floating around after being blasted by guys hunting the lake.

Hard working geese? Early bird gets the worm geese. Fried chicken is the devil geese? Grape Soda tastes like medicine geese?
