I still don't see how ANYONE doesn't support a balanced budget amendment. Hell, this just asked for an estimate from Obama and he won't even be able to come up with that.

Like Obama's going to tell the truth and his voters and the media will hold him accountable.

I thought in Washington, one vote from the other party on a bill was bipartisan...

How sad that they have to pass legislation to enforce the imperial king usurper POS, to do his job. They need to pass some gas and some impeachment hearings for Obama usurping his power. And then remove his mack daddied dumbass from reign of tyranny. :InB4 someone and Alcee Hastings says this is a racist thought to want to stop the a-hole Obama: Oh and at anyone forcing Obama to do anything but destroy America, vacation and arm terrorists. THIS JUST IN a picture of the media, republicans and liberals: to the savior only satanists have been waiting for ----->

I know there is some conservative opposition to it because of the idea that it will be used to raise taxes instead of cutting spending.

This is mostly symbolic but I at least appreciate the effort. It will never reach the floor of the Senate.quote:
"Playing games, that's what they have been doing and that's what they continue to do as we go into the spring," Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said. "Playing games that give new meaning to the term 'March Madness,' because that's what will result if we have to face a sequester."
This coming from the women who said we have to pass it to see what's in it.

Is this still a talking point? This is technically true because nobody knows exactly what is or is not in any legislation until it passes, and things get added, removed, and modified until it finally passes. At this point we can actually see what's in it and what's not. This is true by the very nature of the process. However, I'm pretty sure anyone can read proposed legislation before it passes. It's kind of pathetic and desperate to spread out-of-context quotes as propaganda.

If the House is playing games then what is the Senate doing? Are the Senators on strike, because they haven't produced anything of substance with respect to a budget for years.

Yeah, but in fairness, what have republicans cut in the last 30 years? Answer: nothing. Don't act like if it weren't for the democrats, the deficit problem would be resolved and we'd be paying down the debt. It's disingenuous as hell. And it is games, because somebody (R) in the senate will simply amend whatever budget is brought forth. Boehner and Obama are going to have to sit down, work something out, and then have a "come to Jesus" with their respective parties. Because that's what it's going to take to balance the budget.

I am very pissed at republicans for not taking care of business and cutting spending when they had a majority. The problem is the republicans don't have the spine to cut entitlements and when they suggest it the dems say profound things like "they want to starve the children, kill old people and poison our drinking water". How can anything get done if dems don't come to the table on cuts. I agree the republicans have not fixed the problem but the dems are PART of that problem.

That is a fair question. During the last 30 years our deficit grew $6 - $7 Trillion under all GOP Administrations combined. In Obama's first 4 years it grew $6Trillion. Without Congressional intervention, it will grow $5 trillion more over the next 4 years.

This is the reason they tacked on spending caps and a 2/3 voting requirement last time they tried to get a BBA passed.

I'm pretty sure it's not for lack of trying. How can either side get anything done on the most divisive of issues if neither can get 60 votes?

Were that the case, it's such an asinine assertion that I'd feel badly for you even if you were Pelosi's personal spin aide.
