Use the same water you caught him in. Depending on how big it is when you catch him you may need a daily large tank to provide for it.

That's all I got

I could never keep bass alive when I had my aquarium. I kept many bream and a few small catfish that I would catch in our creek, but bass never did well.

I have kept bass before. Its difficult to keep the tank clean.. they shite a lot. But it's pretty fun watching them smash goldfish. They love em. Bass want live food.. so that's the hardest part keeping live worms and goldfish for them to eat.

I always wanted to try them in a koy pond.

I have done it with mixed success. In high school we had one in a tank for a year or so before we let him loose. He was about 6" and didn't grow any. Kept him in a tank with some bream and a couple crawfish.

The last time I tried to have fish we tried about a dozen bass over a year and none of them made it. Of course, I never really tried to hard to figure out what the problem was.

It can be done.

They did great in the coy pond at southgate towers in BR. Don't ask me how I know that.

I set up a small, "Tennessee River" tank once. I had a couple of tiny bass, bream, a few snails, plants, etc. I think a few of them died before I got bored with it and took the tank down.

It can be done, but it's just like any other aquarium, the bigger the better and you need to do a monthly 20-40% water change.

I kept one for several years. They are very aggressive so only one would live and he killed everything I put in there with him except for a very large female crawfish. She whooped his butt one time and he quit trying to eat her. I fed mine mostly shiners. I would go buy around 50 and throw them all in there at once. I had a 75 gallon aquarium.

I've had several bass before. I'd drop 20 shiners in the tank and watch it eat until there were tails sticking out of its mouth, then it would just kill the rest
