Edit: I'm a dad of girl that was once 9. She's 19 now. I've watched 10 years of primping, and know how devestated a little girl would be over a facial scar.
It's cool for guys. My brother - He's got a huge scar on his lip from getting run over by a bike when he was two. Cut him so bad they sewed the outside of lip, inside of his lip, and gum. We even called him "boogerlip" as a kid. He thought it was cool. If he was girl though, he wouldn't have.

"lucky" it was the calf man. I hope she continues to do well and gets back around dogs comfortably.
I also hope the dog gets hit by a car...
