Me and the family will be going thru Rayville tomorrow night(fri nite) around supper time. I was gonna try one the local seafood buffets, either Big Johns or Hannahs. Does anyone familiar with the area have a recommendation? I realize these aren't top of the line fresh seafood joints, but we're just looking to get our guts full with some solid seafood(fish, shrimp, frog legs)

Any advice or opinions on which place is better?

I've had Big John's buffet at lunch years ago...pretty decent then, a place downtown, The Feedlot, may be worth a look. Hang on and a local will pop in and help.

Any reason you can't wait 15 minutes to get to Monroe?

LSUBalls would tell you they have the best Sonic ever. Take that for what it's worth.

We're going to a basketball game out in BFE about 50 miles north of there, trust me Rayville is our best option

What town and highway are you going to? A lot of NELA folks here. My roots are on the East side of Swartz.

Tell the feller hunting Rayville cuisine on th FB I'd probably choose Big Johns for your standard fried seafood buffet. Hannahs is just as good but a lot smaller place. Hannahs should have crawfish by now though. .

I'm from Swartz too brother! I live in WM but work in Rayville....the game is in Kilbourne off Hwy 17.... the wife is gonna meet me in Rayvillle and we'll head to my daughter's game from there! I know there is nothing in Delhi or Oak Grove worth a flip, thus the Rayville

My wife didn't grow up here, so getting off I-20 and going thru these east towns is gonna be an experience for her!

Should be. There was when I was growing up. It gave Mike's Fish house a run for his money.
