I was debating with a guy at work that said that Laettner was a huge NBA bust. I knew he was in the league a long time and had some really good years, but was never a star and it's tough when you are drafted after HOF's (Shaq and Zo). Since he is one of the greatest college players of all time, was his pro career a let down? He really did have some good years (LINK )..

I hate Duke/Laetner and no way was he even close to a bust.

Impossible to be a bust when you last 13 years in the league. Earned a title.

He had a long productive career while making a lot of money. He's far... far from a huge NBA bust.

I'm not sure you realize what a bust means. Michael Olwankandi is a bust. Christian Laettner is not.

Laettner will be in HOF before he turns 60. I know he's part ofDream Team, but will go in on own.

nah, he had a solid career. right when things were starting to take off for him with the Hawks, he tore his achilles and was never quite the same.

Uhhhh no, he's not getting in the HOF.

Not a bust either though.

He spent his first 6 years in the league averaging basically 17 ppg & 8 rpg. A bust he is not.

He didn't really know that much about the NBA. He just knew that he never heard of him again after he left Duke. He was suprised Laettner played that long and had some good years.

I think he even made an all star team - he had bad luck with injuries and not finding the right fit.

His game was somewhat similar to David West if I recall.
