Wilson Chandler has one of the best contracts in the NBA in terms of value based on contract, one of the few instances besides max-deal guys where his salary between $6-7M over 4 years is right where it should be. I think he is a much better player than Aminu, even with how the Chief has played of late, Chandler is sometimes the third option at SF on his team begind Gallinari and Iggy. The hype around Bledsoe is purely potential and also the fact that he is a starter playing role player minutes with one of the best benches in recent memory. Bledsoe is better than any backup PG other than Gentleman Jack, so often he is that much better against them and again has the support of a loaded bench. Hindsight is 20/20 everyone knows the Clippers gave the Hornets the option either Bledsoe or the lottery pick, we chose Rivers, at the time a good decision to go with the pick, the rest remains to be seen.

Chandler would come here and be 4th option. He's has gotten progressively worse as the years go on it seems. His offensive game is basically the same as Ryan Anderson. I'd rather more offensive versatility in our SF.

Granted he can guard every multiple positions and his contract isn't bad. There isn't a shot in hell you get him for a 2nd, though.

To say he is the same as Ryan Anderson is not a good comparison, both offensively and defensively. If Iggy inks his player option which he will, Chandler will be shipped out, and a secod round pick and maybe next years first along with maybe Darius Miller would probaby do it.

They both live and die by the three ball. Last time we saw Chandler healthy he was launching close to 5 three pointers a game. I'm not sure Monty wants another chucker, especially an inefficient one.

Even so id take him 10 times out of 10 over AFA. Chandler has a great defensive game (at least before all the injuries) and can at least score.

When he played with the Knicks? Everyone chucked three-balls under D'Antoni in New York.

No one realistic deal is going to take the Pelicans from fringe playoff team to title contender.

It's a process. Acquiring a player of Chandler's attributes to play the SF could be a solid step in that process.

We get Bledsoe from the clippers for Gravy and Henry + second rounder.

You want to do what?

Davis adds 20+ pounds of muscle in the off season and becomes a center, moving Anderson to PF, leaving Lopez as a backup center were he should be.

Lopez play backup Center minutes, while Anderson and Davis play starter minutes. What difference does it make who starts the game?

I mean, I don't think the Pelicans end up with JSmith, either. But, I wouldn't say there's no chance in hell.

Smith signed an offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies way back when. Why? Because they offered him the most money.

If the Pelicans offer him the most money, then he will sign with them, IMO.

I think it would be a mistake to do that - because you then probably couldn't re-sign Vasquez and who knows how Gordon would react to someone coming here who the front office just dished out $15 million to (the contract Gordon wanted).

I'm of the belief that the Pelicans are still multiple moves away from being a team capable of making noise in the playoffs. And except for the acquisition of LeBron or Durant, no one move is going to put this franchise over the top.

He's just putting a filler into the lineup. It's just a body for the minimum salary. That's all he's saying

Zach Lowe on grantland had a good read about smith last week. one of the more interesting options was that he sign a one year deal so he has 10 years in the league and the 35% of the cap max opens up for him.

not sure who gives him 21million per, but I have learned to never underestimate nba gms
