The annual pro-life march, this year marking the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v Wade decision, drew tens of thousands to Washington, DC on Friday, but didn’t garner a syllable of coverage on Friday’s World News on ABC nor the CBS Evening News. Yet on Saturday night, both newscasts highlighted a pro-gun control protest in DC which CBS anchor Jim Axelrod pegged at drawing “close to a thousand people.”

The same thing happens every year to the abortion march. They get ignored by the leftist media.
Maybe they'll catch on and start directing their protests to the network offices themselves.

Until this year the abortion march did not even have a website, much less any real outreach to the media or even congress. This is likely due to the fact that it was founded and run by a women who was 88 years old. Now that she as died and a new leader took over, I expect you will have more coverage as there will be more outreach.
Why do I know the above, because the day before it there was an article in the Washington Post about the new leader of it. I am sure the march reached out to journalists to have this story. The next day in the Post there was also a front page picture of it.
As everyone on this board knows, the media is lazy. If you don't reach out to them, they won't cover your news. However if you make it easy for them to do a story and do their work for them, they will cover it.

Lazy, incompetent, biased, and condescending. Even if you do reach out and make it easy for them, they will inevitably put their preconceived biases to work on the story, regardless of the facts.
Major media across the nation covered the scrawny anti-gun protest and tried to imply that it somehow illustrates a changing tide in American attitudes and enlightenment. They portray those protesters as thoughtful, patriotic, do-gooders.
While they ignore or denigrate another massively larger march in support of conservative values and portray the protesters as narrow-minded kooks and haters, who seek to deny the rights of others.
Anyone who isn't appalled by this blatant bias of the media is dishonest, conniving, stupid, arrogant, or all of the above.

It's an annual event that draws hundreds of thousands of people. To pretend that's not big enough to get on the Washington media's radar is bull shite. They know about it, and purposefully ignore it. You know it, too.
A tent full of people showed up in Crawford, TX, and that made all the networks. As already pointed out, "almost a thousand" for a gun rally made the grade.
Your excuse-making is a copout. Be honest. You like the partisan press because it's on your side.

I didn't say it wasn't on their radar, but what I did say was it was made easy for them to cover (To be clear I am not defending them, I am just saying how it is).
IF you have a website or contact info, etc, the media can find someone to interview to build a story line. This is what the Post did this year with the article before the event.

Actually it is really easy to miss 100,000 people on the mall. You would be shocked as to how many events do that.
Why is it so easy, because people who live in DC don't go to the Mall during the middle of a work day. The abortion protest has it sort of figured out as they march by the Supreme Court and around the capital closing down streets. However if they really want to be noticed, they would walk through the middle of the city.
Again my point wasn't that the news media didn't know about the event, it is that organizers didn't actively engage the media. The media is lazy, if you want coverage you must engage with them. Give them people to interview, don't make them find these people themselves.
