What does the 9mm have to do with the Bandit having the flu?

Well see, this is what happened. The Bandit drove a black car. LAPD is known for beating up black people. He was pursued by Sheriff B.T. Justice who carried a revolver. Although Sheriff Justice was from Tx the era was the same era that LAPD was carrying 9mm.

So, The Bandit represents LAPD going back to that era. Understand now?

One of the coolest cars of the 70's, but I can almost hear the doors rattling just looking at this picture.

One of the comments.

In other news, I saw another article that says the Bandit is doing better.

Another of the comments.

I took a ccw class a couple weeks ago and the deputy told me that many LEO agencies are regretting "drinking the .40 cal kool-aid" because the caliber was sold as being 9mm recoil with .45 knock down, but they have found the round to be .45 recoil with 9mm knock down.

Are the ballistics really that bad? 115 grain 9mm vs 185 .40 cal.?

It doesn't matter what caliber they use if they can't hit anything.

Recent stories of LAPD and NYPD tell me they suck at shooting.

The improvement in bullet technology in regards to reliable mushrooming an fragmenting has favored 9mm over the larger calibers. Combine that with the fact cops are shitty shooters and can't handle a big weapon and it's no surprise.

So why has only the 9mm technology advanced but the .40 has not? I hear this argument all the time but nobody can answer this for me. Seems like the bigger the bullet, with the same technology would be a good thing, no?

I agree that they are shitty shooters but what is a big gun? Glock 19, 17? Same size as a Glock 22 and 23, you know that, right? Same size gun, Same technology

Most of the problem is that they're only required to shoot 100 rounds per year, and 90 of those are at 7 yards. Yes, there will be some that shoot on their own, but a bunch don't.

Change that to shoot 100 per month and every 6 months do a practical shoot, not just at paper and missed shots and number of shots in a shootout will go waaaaay down. There was a high speed chase followed by a "shootout" in Shreveport a few years back where 6 cops shot at least 12 rounds each at 1 individual and he was only hit 6 or 7 times. That is un-fricking-acceptable.

And every department would go broke just spending on ammo.
