Off top of my head
Made a tackle on special teams
Returned a kick to about the 32
Almost blocked a punt

Returned 2 kickoffs for a total of 47 yards. Made one special teams tackle. Almost blocked a punt.

Almost blocking a punt is not a stat.

OP did not ask for stats. He asked if he did anything. And he did "almost block a punt".

Those senior bowl coaches really wasted Sheps potential in this game.

He played a good bit. Tyler Wilson never looked in his direction and mostly threw dump off passes to RBs on the opposite side. Then Landry Jones had a lot of trouble hitting any of his receivers. Shep played both ways on special teams as well.

I'm sure the almost blocked punt is not the information the original poster was searching for. He did nothing of offensive value. This kid should have been a rb and bulked up if he stood any shot to make it to the next level, but he couldn't at lsu with our stable. Now he has to rely on special teams to get him to the league and I don't see it. Shep was a great ambassador for our school and a talented athlete, but as you can see now in 2 all star games, he just did not develop enough at lsu. He really needed to go to a school that ran the zone read offense.

He didn't do anything in the Stars and Stripes Classic last week either. He ran some routes and that was basically it. He did play hard on special teams both blocking and as a gunner.

He doesn't have the frame to bulk. And if he did bulk, he would lose whatever speed he had. He would be either a WR or a DB at the next level outside of special teams. I wonder how he would've done if he had gone the DB route at LSU like Morris Claiborne did. The depth this past season was certainly favorable.

This sort of reinforces my "what-if" scenario. He made some TD saving special teams plays and potential pick-6's during his time at LSU. He has tackling ability. I wonder how his career would've went if he had played DB where having good hands is a plus but not an end-all-be-all.

I heard he had a couple of good kick/punt returns. I was in the other room and just barely heard it.

He runs with explosiveness and even at his size was able to absorb contact and finish runs for positive yardage. He absorbs contact well. The only promising contributions he had at lsu involved running the football. I believe he had more total yards as a fr. than he did the other 3 years combined.

I completely agree that he can take hits a lot better than other guys around his size. He even has a bit of toughness to him. But the fact that he is 6'1" but only 185 pounds makes it impossible for him to play RB full-time unless he adds some serious bulk. Adding 20 pounds of muscle to put him just over 200 pounds can drastically change his speed and acceleration.

Not sure why he didn't get to throw the ball at least once.

He threw a pass and scored 8 touchdowns off of that one pass. Miles wasted his qb career.

I think Shep can be used every bit in the NFL as Jacquizz Rodgers is used with the Falcons.

With the right team, he can get some spot time and be a producer.

ETA: an extra Z

Rodgers is compact and thickly built at 5'6" and almost 200 pounds who was the premiere back at Oregon State. I don't see the correlation.

re: Did Shep do anything in the Senior Bowl....

Shep has the speed and tenacity (good tackling skills) to play in the NFL - even if it is just on special teams playing offense or defense or maybe both. This part of the game is important and makes up about 15-20% of a football game or something along those lines. A lot of guys
"stick" in the NFL b/c they excel at special teams. This is his calling in football at the next level. He will do fine. He also has the value added skills of being a down the depth chart receiver and/or running back in an EMRG situation.

Now.... on the subject of the LSU coaches not using him effectively I agree to a point. They could have at least put him in many more offensive plays as a decoy just to keep the linebackers and defensive backs honest. Enough on that. I wish him well. He's still a quality athlete and player. Nothing has changed on my opinion of him after 4 years. He definitely should have gone to another school where a more wide-open offense was showcased.
