A lot of guys "stick" in the NFL b/c they excel at special teams. This is his calling in football at the next level.
Coach and recruiter. That's his calling. I promise you he does not have NFL talent at any position including special teams. He apparently does have a great personality and work ethic, though. If he uses them, that's way more valuable than NFL talent. A good assistant coach can make half a million dollars per year for 40 years. That's way more than the average starter in the NFL makes in his career.
