So because a worse player plays on a better team he should make it? It would be a joke if Kyrie didn't get in.

Fewer minutes and fewer shots. He's shooting the highest percentage of his career this year. Plus playing the best defense on the team in my opinion. If his usage was higher, you'd notice more, but he's having an exceptional year. He's still the best SG in the game when you take into account both offense and defense.

I guess the east is pretty thin in the SG position, considering Joe Johnson was the only one I could think of

Paul George. Glad he made it.

Agree, Paul George is deserving, but he's been playing SF mostly with Granger out. Not that it really matters.

This is the worse fact in all of this. This year's Dwight starting in the ASG over Duncan.

Are people still going by first month of the season Wade?

Well, that is about 40% of this season so far.

I am disappointed Yao Ming is not playing alongside Tracy McGrady.

Please go compare Wade's numbers to other guards in the East. Or the West for that matter.

I'm not a PER end all be all guy, but there are 3 guards in the league with a better PER than Wade (CP3, Westbrook, Kobe), and Wade is the best defender of the 4. He's shooting the highest FG% of his career. He's probably been the second best guard in the league this year behind CP3.

I would still have Wade starting in the East by a good bit. Having a bad month is kind of a big deal when the season has only been a little over 2.5 months though.

I would probably take both Westbrook and Kobe over Wade just because what they do is in a higher volume. Wade's fg% is nice, but I would want more raw production and a higher usage rate from. Obviously, all of those guards are top 10 players in the league though.

Leading Western Conference centers in rebounding and blocks, 2nd in FG%, 3rd in points. Totally doesn't deserve to be there

Really not sure if serious.

By your theory Kobe shouldn't be in either, because the Lakers aren't winning crap.

Why though? Only one of them is a good defender. I could see a case for Westbrook, but I'd disagree. But Kobe can't defend anyone, except Brandon Jennings.

Kobe's defense is a big reason why the Lakers are awful.

Kobe gives me seven more minutes and 8.7 points more per game at a pretty decent clip of 46.5% FG%.

While Wade is clearly a better defender and shoots for a higher percentage, 7 extra minutes of Kobe makes him more valuable.

Westbrook is in a similar boat as Kobe with his 43 mpg.

All three have very similar PER's in the 23's, so their per minute effectiveness is pretty close (this of course, unfairly disadvantages Wade because defense is harder to accurately follow and evaluate with PER), but give me those extra seven or eight minutes.

If the question was who would you rather have x number of minutes, then Wade is a very logical answer. On the other hand, both Kobe and Westbrook are worth IMO on a per game (and therefore per season) basis than Wade.

Furthermore, Westbrook never misses a game (300+ consecutive games played). Kobe is incredibly consistent in games played, which is amazing for his or any age. Wade pretty much always misses more games than both of them combined.

ETA: I also do not like to judge players on a per-minute basis, since not all players play the same amount.

I would be in total support of creating PER x minutes played = SLPER (season long PER or something like that). I realize that EWA and VA are variations of that though, but I would like to see PER extrapolated and the math is super easy to do that.
