You shouldn't consume pot in front of a kid. Whether enclosed or out of doors. If you do you're a dumb frick. Most likely an unproductive dumbfrick. This is my opinion and I value it above all others on a message board.

This is an issue I had never really thought of. I don't really view it differently than alcohol, but it still seems odd to do it in front of one's child. I was also always around men growing up that drank scotch and smoked cigars. Pot and even cigarettes were looked down upon to a degree, so I guess some of my remaining prejudices probably go back to that.

Also, my dad was a daily drinker my entire time growing up, but I never even saw him buzzed until I was 18 and old enough to drink with him. Which is how it should be, really.

75%+ I know will consume cannabis, even if its just a casual thing. All are 30+. Almost all are professionals. I don't see why they need to grow up. They have jobs, they provide, the follow the law. Its not like they are sitting on their couch getting their kid stoned and playing xbox.

Hate to tell you but unless they live in CO/WA they are breaking the law evertime they smoke pot.

Do you feel the same about smoking a cigarette in front of a kid?

Or a cigar?

It's illegal, for starters. I don't live in Cal or Colorado nor anywhere else where it is legal. But if I did I would probably still have the same opinion. Children are like sponges man. They see you smoking a fatty, they will more than likely feel inclined to do so. I don't want my 12 year old getting stoned. I want him/her doing 12 year old shite. When they get 18 and out of my house they can figure shite out on their own.

I don't have kids. I follow the lead of the parents, if I am in that situation. I personally don't enjoy being intoxicated around children, so its a situation I tend to avoid.

I do consume around minors pretty frequently though, since most concerts are 16+. And i like to smoke pot at concerts

As someone who thinks pot should be legalized at the federal level, I think it's irresponsible to smoke and introduce pot to kids. There's really no harm physically in smoking with them around, but parents partaking in anything illegal (don't give me some traffic violations bullshite) in front of their children is a no-no.

I don't see any problem with leveling with your child about pot consumption when he or she is old enough. Additionally, I don't see any problem with parents smoking as long as they continue to provide, guide, and protect their kids.

And this is why. Asked a valid question and you respond with an insult. The immaturity spills out of you.

is it okay to vape in front of the kids instead of smoking...since there would be no smell or anything. Just fill up a bag full of "air" and tell them you're playing with an adult balloon

they are, and they are also really perceptive. Much more perceptive than adults.

So they are going to figure it out, at what age, who knows. But then they will understand you have been lying to them/deceiving them, which is something that is also really problematic. Do you want your kids to lie to you?

and you obviously need to teach kids about age appropriate things. When they are 12, they can't drive and shouldn't go see rated R movies. How do you handle that?

I totally respect not doing it around your child, that is a personal decision and 100% up to the parents but I don't think its a slam dunk decision.

I don't think I would smoke in front of my kids. Would I be upfront and honest if they were to ask? Sure but knowing about what I do and actually witnessing what I do are two seperate animals. I wouldn't drink in front of them either though.
