I've been thinking more along the lines of Kareem. Seriously, if he could develop a consistent skyhook, he could be a monster in the post.

Either of those guys could help his game. He needs to become automatic from 15-18, that would be HUUUUUGE! Free throw shooting could use some work too.

Haha, i dont think you can just "go learn" some of the best basketball players' best moves. That would be like saying that Hasheem Thabeet needs to go learn some of AD's timing and instincts.

so practice and working on your game is impossible?

timing and instincts
do not equal post moves.

No, but so far, he needs to go acquire Olajuwan's moves, Kareem's sky hook, and KG's post move. Oh, and also be automatic from 15-18. This isnt a fricking video game where you go learn from a master and acquire all their skills. Fans are so delusional.

no one, hopefully, thinks that 2 days with any of those guys will give him those skills. clearly he will never have the dream shake or the sky hook or be KG, but as far as guys to pattern his game after, I dont see what's wrong here.

Thats fine. But i think people get carried away. You know how in a movie all someone has to do is introduce a tiny idea and it goes on to explain everything? Like, the main character use to be an engineer so he can build ridiculous contraptions and get out of every pickle with science. Thats what people continue to do with AD, and really all fans with any athlete. I realize AD is good and will only get better but to assume that he is going to be a freak that has all the combined skills of every lanky PF/C HOFer is homerism and stupid.

This only requires practice, practice, practice. Nothing to learn.

I'm not buying this. The guy is 19 and learning to be a post player. It's fairly obvious that his post moves are limited, but he has the length, athleticism, and coordination of an elite post player. I wasn't alive then, but I doubt KAJ's hook was unstoppable at 19. It's something that he developed. I also agree with you about patterning his game. He may never be AS dominant as Kareem with the sky hook, but he could be dominant, nonetheless. Watch him under the basket now. He gets great position, but most of his shots are relying on length rather than form. He still shoots layups like a guard sometimes. As his form develops and he learns more techniques, he will continue to grow into more of a post presence. I'd have to check, but Davis seems noticeably longer (no dick jokes) than Garnett.

But he shouldn't work with the best at the position to learn the fundamentals of their best weapons because he will never be better at them....got it. If you can't be the best at any particular post move, you might as well just ignore its existence.

sky is the limit for him, but I dont think he needs a super post game considering he has a decent jumper already, great ability to finish in traffic, and is a monster divinf to the rim. he gets a face up game and just a couple of reliable post moves and he is a very potent offensive player.

may be, but garnett is a seven footer. we'll see if davis can grow that much (not a dick joke)

No one ever said that. Fact is we don't know WHAT Davis' ceiling is.

My whole point has been that ever since Dwight did it, every fan thinks that their players should go work with "insert player here". If our coaches cant teach our big men post moves we are in trouble. Hell, how do you know if these HOFers are even good teachers? And he cant just watch them do it in person, because then he would look like an old man who at one time had a mean sky hook haha. just watch film and listen to your coaches AD.

Just checked, it shows he's 6'11" without shoes. I guess he just doesn't seem that tall.
