quote:

If you sacrifice something for God, he will give you anything your heart desires (unless you're a Patriots fan.) I gave up a lot of things and sacrificed a lot for his team. I was counted out with a torn triceps and God just kept telling me, "no weapon formed against me shall prosper."

-Ray Lewis

I just felt the bible verse quoted was ironic, that's all.

Sorry, I just realized that I probably shouldn't have started a new Ray Lewis thread, but that particular verse quoted just rubbed me the wrong way.

It's probably not the ideal time to start a thread, but I just had the opportunity to really pay attention to the post game interviews and I just thought he crossed the line. I realize people can change. I was a big fan of Mos Def's portrayal of Brother Sam in Dexter, but I just think Lewis is pushing boundaries a little too much.

He said this last week twice on live national TV on the field in his interview.

Well apparently it's his motto for this postseason and I think it's an ironic choice of words.

Because he was "allegedly" involved in a certain criminal activity using a weapon earlier in his career.

Who is still alleging that he committed a crime with a weapon?

Why did it worry you so much? I don't understand why some people worry about Lewis's life so much. Who are you to judge? I can't live my life judging the next man and worrying about another life besides mine.

I agree for the most part. Also, I was watching an old series about nfl players going broke, and all of them described these entourages of 40-50-60 people, lots of whom they didnt even know. It got me thinking about some of the crimes 'involving' nfl, nba players etc and makes you realize just because a guy is in "the entourage" doesnt mean the actual star ordered him to do it. Could just be an a-hole who was mooching off the star and trying to be the tough guy. Maybe not, but certainly possible.

I was already rooting for Ray to go out top as he deserves to but all the crybabies on this board are making it so much sweeter.

Meh he already has a superbowl

I think it would be good for the 49ers so Moss could finally get a ring

And you have some young guys like Patrick Wilis that I'd like to see get a ring.

I don't even like ray but I'm rooting for him because the crybabies here are so entertaining. I also find ray's over the top attention whoring to be pretty hysterical.

Pulling for the 9ers purely because I'm sick of Ray.
