In golf it has to be Ben Curtis and in tennis I would Go with Michael Chang.

Tennis has had worse. Petr Korda and Thomas Johansson. Somebody has to have been worse than Curtis in golf.

Chang made four GS finals, won seven Masters titles, and was a top 10 player for many years. The worst player to win a GS in tennis was Mark Edmondson. Or you could go with a number of other players who won the Australian Open in the '70s and early '80s. The Australian Open used to have ATP 500-type fields back then because nobody wanted to travel all the way down to Australia in Christmas time. So you had a lot of mediocre players going deep into the Australian Open back in those days.

Just as a note, Lawrie won the Open Championship in 1999, and is CURRENTLY 29th in the world rankings.

YOu don't know shite about tennis at all.

I can give you several worse than Chang, but I'll start w/ Gaston Gaudio.

What about Todd Hamilton? I haven't heard of him since he won the British in 2004.

I think it will be tough to find an answer other than Micheel. He has THREE professional wins. One was the PGA Championship, one was on the Asian Tour, and one on the Nationwide Tour. So other than his major, he has ZERO PGA Tour or European Tour wins. He was cut in more than 50 percent of majors he played in. In fairness, he did finish second in the 2006 PGA, but he hasn't finished in the top 20 of any other major he's participated in.

A little misleading if you go by the Wiki page to look at his best finish in another major, because it ignores he finished second in the 2006 PGA after his 2003 PGA win (since on the side it lists the best finish in each major, and obviously second is worse than his win), but yeah, overall, not exactly lighting it up.

Yeah Lawrie is good.

Micheel might be the winner... the Korean guy who beat Tiger in the PGA- has he done anything?
