Morten Andersen Not a HOF Finalist

The finalist list is out. Andersen did not advance.

It's gonna be hard for Andersen to get in for a while. A lot of very good players are in the same boat and/or ahead of him. Plus, he's a kicker and a lot of people don't think he belongs in anyway.

thats the sad thing about the NFL - Kickers get snubbed to much.
Andersen deserves to be in the HOF.

Ray Guy wasn't even a semifinalist. It's an uphill battle. If he doesn't break through in the next few years, people will forget about him and new names will take his place.

That's BS. Wonder just how many games came down to a kick and kicker put it through for the win. Kickers get no respect at all. And Morten deserves to be there.

don't understand how someone who is top-3 all-time at a position that isn't long snapper can't make it in...isn't he like 2nd all time in points scored?

I'm no knight of kickers, but the lack of representation in the hall is an embarrassment. If kicking/punting are important, put the best ones in, if it's not important, take it out of the game.

He is #1 all time by something like 100 points.

If Cris Carter doesn't get in this year then no one should

kicker and punters do need to have some sort of attention for the HOF. There's only one kicker, Jan Stenerud, in the HOF. NO punters. C'mon, you may not think of them as ballers but the very best of all time should get in.
Every time Hartley misses a FG it seems someone is calling for his head. Check THIS He's #8 Alltime in best FG % at 84.5%. Compare to Vinatieri 82.6 or Anderson 79.7

It seems like he misses so much more for some reason

The sad thing about the NFL is that they have "thing" against the New Orleans Saints

hartley may have a good fg%, but when you need a clutch kicker and don't have one...it just makes things ugly as hell.
if he were missing 40-50+ yarders instead of these 30-somethings, I wouldn't have an issue.

Adam Vinateiri will be the next kicker in the HOF.
Anderson's campaign is hurt because the Saints don't have a big influential writer in their corner in the room, like the Steelers and Giants for example do. Also, there are a ton of kickers over or near 80 percent now. Almost everybody has a great kicker. People who look at the statistics now don't realize that in his time, it was almost literally Morten Andersen, Gary Anderson, and then a bunch of average kickers and/or flashes in the pan.

Can't go with Parcells.
Mr. Self proclaimed "buy the groceries" guy wouldn't have any rings if he wouldn't have INHERITED LT, Phil Simms, Harry Carson, and a few others. George Young bought his groceries.

I can swap George Young for Parcells
