Anyone else glad we don't have to hear Big 12 fans pop off about their teams?

For me, the most refreshing thing about the bowl season was seeing the Big 12 fall flat on its face. These people were trying to angle themselves as having the best conference.

Bowl record was 4-5...two of those four wins were against teams that now have losing records. The two co-champions got their butts kicked in bowls.

The only thing I will give the Big 12 is that it has parity among most of its teams.

Anyhow, it's been refreshing to hear their noise die down. I live in Houston and have friends that are UT fans...and they have been talking noise all season. Until the Cotton Bowl and Fiesta Bowls were played.

Has anyone else seen the Big 12 noise die down in their circles?

I'm so glad I don't have any of those Big 12 knit-wits in my circles.

Actually, the best part was Big 12 fans popping off before January 1st now having to eat crow.

I honestly didn't think A&M would beat OU, much less blow them out. I know Stoops loses some big games, but how many times have them been blown out like that?

Really?

Oklahoma St. last year.

And let us not forget the thrashing back in January 2005 when USC dismantled them and literally "made them quit." That was embarrasing.

Bill Stewart's WV team hung 48 on them Fiesta Bowl, & a few years ago Texas Tech crushed them.

Now I'm kind of wishing the SEC didn't just sign the agreement for a bowl tie in with them.

Yup. I knew there was some other bad ones out there, I just didn't want to look them up.

And the problem isn't that they get blown out, its that they get blown out when they supposedly have a better or equal team to the team that destroys them.

For example, no one is surprised ND got blasted by Bama who was honest with themselves, but if Bama beat LSU like that in Death Valley this year you'd be thinking Les Miles had truly led a disaster. Stoops has teams who do it "frequently."

Of course, he has also beat down some "equal" teams himself. Might just be the style of football. Like Oregon, it racks up points when its working, but going 3 and out in 20 seconds really hurts your defense in a tough matchup and you receive the beat down instead.

When they lose, they seem to give up a lot of points as frequently as losing in low scoring affairs. Kind of strange, really. But makes sense with how they play football in that conference.

Example being 2008.

Lose to Texas 45-35.

Lose to UF 24-14. Only two losses that year.
