Going for first time Sunday night. Have heard great things and everything looks great on the menu. Any must have dishes ?

I love this place and I really don't think it gets much respect from locals and I think it deserves it.
I really enjoy the Smoked Sizzling Oysters for an appetizer. Presentation and flavors are incredible.
For salads I think their caesar salad is very good and Poached Pear & Roquefort Blue Cheese salad is wonderful.
I usually get their scallops and wild mushroom risotto for my entree and wife gets one of their grilled fish.
When you go, ask for a table near the street, the last time I went something wasn't just right and I think it had to do to being seated in the back wall of the restaurant in a booth. I much prefer sitting at a table in the front of the dining room near the windows.

I was unimpressed on my first and only visit to GW Fins. The fish that we had was blah. I typically love baked/grilled/sauteed grouper, drum and tripletail, ect. I think I do recall the bisquits that they serve being tasty as a filler.
I would be willing to try Fins again but there are soooo many nola restaurants that are on my list to go to first.

Scallopini. It's fish topped with thin cut scallops on risotto. It was awesome. Lobster dumplings are good too.

Thanks for the input. It wasnt my choice. Was invited and will be treated,so why not. I would personally pick Laboca,Atchafalaya,or Boucherie. Those are my favorites.
