Bacon Wrapped Chicken with chopped BBQ Granny Smith Apples. Also poured in a blue moon winter abbey ale. Also squeezed a lemon over all the pot.
Anyone had anything like this?

Really excited about starting to cook. I feel so much better/healthier and it's fun.

I like the overall idea. Sounds like good flavors, but why not just roast that in the oven? Your bacon isn't going to get a nice texture to it, which should be the goal when wrapping something with bacon.. and I'm not a huge fan of cooking chicken in its own juices.

We'll need some pics when that badboy gets out of the pot.

Exactly. My first thought was that the visual appeal of bacon cooked in a crock pot would be unappetizing.

I don't understand the recipe. Is this a whole chicken, breasts, thighs? Was the bacon browned first? What's "chopped bbq"? Like pulled pork?

Not this meal, just in general.

No

"chopped bbq

Took the core out of apples and cut the apples up into small pieces and mixed bbq sauce in them. Poured over the chicken and bacon.

I figure it will take some time as I learn but I wanted to start cooking. First time I've used the crock pot. Been cooking about a week.

It will be tonight sometime. No, mine won't look like the stuff on the internet. I'm learning and hopefully it tastes okay.
