lets hear from you. Last year all the LSU fans and others that argued that Bama should get a rematch because the 2 best teams should meet in the MNC.....what happened this year?

Certainly not that. A&m, Oregon, even Stanford were playing better ball in the last month than ND.

Face it...all BCS Champions are BS. Nothing has or will ever be legitimate until it's settled on the field. 8 team playoff
FWIW. A&m would have beat the gumps again if they would have a rematch. Even LSU might have won in a rematch .....yeah i said it.

Even though I think ND was overrated, they were undefeated. Bama won the SEC, this year, so they deserved to be there, as much as I hate to say it.

Last year, different story.

So how does that include the two best team argument. because clearly that is not the case.

In my opinion, the national championship game was the SEC Championship. No way ND should ever have been ranked #1 with that schedule. No one in the in his or her right mind could have possibly thought ND winning tonight was a possibility. A close game wasn't a possibility.

I agree which makes last year all the more distasteful.

frick that, I never said that. Before the game Bama was the second best team in the country, but we shouldn't have had to play them again.

A&M could've played for the national title if only they hadn't lost two other games during the season.

The NC game should have been A&M vs Oregon and in a real playoff that is what would have happened this year.

Well it's hard not to put ND there, they were the only undefeated team.

Bama won the SEC which is the unofficial defacto game to the BCSNG.

Oregon lost to Stanford, they play in the PAC 12 full of mostly teams that are inferior.

Who else could've gone in Bama's place? tOSU is on probation, USC is a doormat, again, Florida was overrated at 3, FSU is always overrated.

There's no one else to put in Bama's place.

Oregon couldn't beat Stanford this year, why would they beat Bama?

I never said that either. I'll go to my grave saying Bama had no business being there.

We beat them on the road. That's why the football season exists.

Yet they get a do-over because they are "that good."

Keep everything the same, everything, the scores, where it was played, everything-except we lose last season. You think we'd get another chance? No way.

Now I exactly agree with you.

My point is many last year many said the purpose of the BCS is to match the two best teams......something it rarely does if ever.
(We earned the right play OSU and they earned the right to play us IMO). We all got screwed by the veil of a phony argument that was nothing more than favoritism by the media.
Playoffs and at least 8 teams is really the only way. Not just favorable schedules, officiating or even the location of a Conference office

I know everyone is mad right now, and I'm right there too, but we were better last year and beat them. But it's been covered, so no point in going any further.

Playoffs don't really find the "best" team either. The Giants weren't the best team in the NFL last season, but they were the best team when it counted, and against the teams that mattered. Without a 119 game round robin there will always be arguments about who the best team REALLY way in any given year.

Posted the same thing on the more sports board. Last year okie state gets screwed and lsu loses. This year nd gets in instead of Oregon and Bama wins again.

Last year Bama should not have gotten a rematch. This year Bama actually earned it.

But an 8 game playoff? It would be fun but you'd be getting some mediocre teams in there that really aren't worthy and the regular season would mean less. But yeah it would be pretty exciting.

How do you know? Not sure anyone would have competed with Bama tonight.

ND clearly earned the right to be in the game.
