One of my favorites is in Life.
The scene where Martin and Eddie are on the bottles. They are talking and Martin's toe falls in the bottle. It was unscripted as was Eddie's reaction. Most of that scene was shot without a cut.

Ending of Last of the Mohicans is movie perfection.

here are mine other than dumb and dumber bathroom scene
Opening of Saving Private Ryan
The charge from the Rohan army in Return of the King at Minas Tiruth. When he gives that speech and runs down hitting their swords gives me a chub every time.
Im still a sucker for the beginning of Swingers, the 15 minutes or so of them in Vegas is still brillant.

The final shoot out in The Wild Bunch. Go watch it if you haven't seen it.

Has nobody mentioned the taxi ride with Steiger and Brando?

Not a serious scene, but the scene it Fatso when all the fatties are having an overeaters anonymous or whatever it is and they start talking about all of their food fantasies, then bust the chains off all of the cabinets and eat up everything in the house.

the greatest tracking shot scene would be from the children of men movie.
May still hold the record for the longest (if it's not "A Touch of Evil")

My friends and I quote that scene all the time. If noone has seen it, it is amazing on so many levels. Not only the content of the conversation, but Hopper's character's motivation for having it.
Hopper and Walken were dear friends. They rarely got to work together, because, obviously, they typically competed for the same roles. This was an opportunity - lightning in a bottle, so-to-speak, to make this happen - you had nearly the perfect storm - Tony Scott directing (at the top of his game), Tarantino script.
While I find the movie as a whole does not live up to the some of its parts - because the leads were out of their element - think of all of the fantastic performances by the support cast - the aforementioned Walken and Hopper, Gary Oldman as Drexyl, Gandolfini as the hitman, Brad Pitt as Floyd - all of those were just exceptional performances.

Just reading over the posts and wanted to chime in:
Apocalypse Now - Robert Duvall on the beach
Jurassic Park - the first glimpse of the dinosaurs (John Williams nailed the music)
The Lion King - opening scene/song
Gladiator - Maximus reveals his identity to Commodus
Braveheart - William Wallace's last yell of "freedom"
I feel like the music makes many of the scenes even better.

The opening scene was better. "On my command, unleash Hell."

Yeah. Probably so. Great action. But the other scene was more plot oriented. Commodus ordered his death but the crowd swayed him to spare his life.

Lots of great scenes to choose. One of my favs is the Viking prayer at the final stand in the 13th Warrior.

The scene in Tombstone where Doc Holiday and Johnny Ringo have an exchange of words and Holiday twirls his cup like a gun.
