If LSU wins the SEC next season, would you anti-Miles folks give him the credit he deserves?

What if he lands Nd(?) and Foster and has the #1 or #2 recruiting class? Then?

See after the BCSCG loss...so many of you bitched about how badly that would hurt recruiting. I called BS then...and the class we had last year and certainly this year prove that the outcome of that game had little impact on recruiting.

Stupid question actually if you were expecting an honest answer from them... which I doubt you were.

I agree some "fans" will always find fault .... They would in any coach.... They grew up with that mentality..."fire" the coach and boo the team....they learned from their Dad and Granddad.

They may be fans...but they are not supporters.

Some will never be happy with the success....and claim that the persuit of perfection is their goal. But reality is that they see the faults in others but don't appreciate the success and consistency Les Miles brings to the LSU program.

Stupid question...no. expecting an honest answer from the anti-Miles crowd...not really....more a statement, I suppose.

I have no idea if I count, but I'm dissatisfied with the state of the program at present under Miles. I think he has underperformed with his talent almost every year he's been here. That isn't to say he hasn't put together an excellent run at LSU, simply to say that as excellent as it is, it could be even better.

My primary complaint with respect to underperformance has been the poor play of the offense ever since the end of the 2007-08 season. If LSU wins the SEC next season in spite of its offensive performance, I will still be dissatisfied with the offense, though of course, as a fan of the whole team, I will be happy that they nonetheless won a conference championship and will happily give props for that. If LSU wins the SEC next season because the offense significantly improves and the defense continues to be dominant, I will be very happy to give him all the credit he deserves, not only for winning the SEC but for correcting the one issue that has plagued the majority of his tenure.

I'm already satisfied with his recruiting; it's been excellent, and I'll continue to acknowledge that Miles and his staff are the best recruiting staff in the country, or if not the best, among the best. To be clear, I didn't think the result of the 2012 BCSCG game alone would hurt recruiting, but I do think that Alabama repeatedly beating LSU, and winning the SEC because of it, undeniably has a negative effect on recruiting over the long term. I don't think that's unreasonable to argue

I agree that Alabama continuing to win the SEC and BCSNCG hurts LSU and every other SEC competitor program.

What if the Defense falls off next year due to attrition? The offense improves, but the defense is middle of the SEC pack? Miles' fault, Chavis?, timing and a rebuilding year?

Not arguing...you make some valid points...I too would like to see better offensive production....I just don't blame Miles alone for it.

Well, it's kinda hard to know how much is Miles and how much is Studrawa and how much is whomever else. Miles gets some of the blame for the poor offensive performance, just as the CEO of a major corporation gets some of the blame if the corporation isn't performing to expected profit, but it could be primarily on the offensive coordinators, could be something else. The only clear thing is that change is needed on offense, and Miles is the guy above anyone else that can get that done.

As for the D: Since the defense has been elite for several years and been hit with a lot of losses to the NFL, I would be alright if the defense took a step back; the new guys should be talented, but they'll be young, so if things don't gel as well as they did from 2010-2012 then I can live with that. A Malleveto-style dropoff would be problematic, but otherwise I think a step back on D is a reasonable expectation, and witnessing it wouldn't be bothersome, especially if the offense improved.

I think it will be very difficult to win the sec next year our schedule is brutal not whining just saying. Possibly all our big time games will be top 5 or 10 when we play them UF, UgA, T a&m, and Bama for sure everyone but UgA will be preseason Top 5 and deservedly so. That's not counting the Miss Schools who are at least getting better not saying they will beat us but are gonna be for sure write down wins for much longer. Auburn is still recruiting on a top ten level just need a coach to put them over the edge Malzan will be tough. Arkansas prolly out off the running for two years till Brett can get his players in there

NO

The anti-Miles folks will give up their hatred only after you pry their cold dead fingers from their keyboards.

Honestly if we go 2-2 with that slate, it has to be looked at as a success

3-1 against those teams and we're in the national championship so long as we win the west tiebreaker

4-0 and the team would make 2011 look like Ole Miss

don't agree with the premise of the question. just because we are very disatisfied with the offense under miles doesn't mean we are anti-miles. doesn't mean we don't give him a lot of credit for the positive things about his coaching either. i like miles, and give him all the credit for what he has done. won a lot, great defenses and special teams.

he refuses to acknowledge that it is unacceptable for a team like LSU to underperform in offense.

If he can pull off the SEC championship next year, certainly I'll recognize that a lot had to do with the head coach.

it's gonna be hard to do with an offense that can't score and a young defense.

Depends if the o improves. If it is the same as usual and we luck out a few games then no. U can win a lot of games on talent and luck alone.

Please stop. The defense has carried this team for years. Even with the losses, they won't miss a beat.
Remember there is a much higher chance of the offense failing again than the defense.

What was the offense ranked? 86th or something? That is unacceptable for LSU. Miles can thank most of his glory over the years to a defense that he pretty much stays out of and lets the Chief run.

He now needs to get the hell out of the way on offense and hire someone that can run the offense better than he can and his superiors should see to it that he does. If acceptable changes are not made, then LSU is a bigger idiot than Miles for not forcing those changes.

Not very complicated at all really if your head is not buried in the sand or 3' up Les' arse.

Boy u are a fricking dreamer! As much as I love Lsu, there is no way we win next year with all the starters declaring for the draft. What is going to hurt us most are on defense. With a struggling offense we will at best be 8&4!!!
