| LSU DL (Posted on 1/4/13 at 7:22 pm)
Was that the best DL ever at LSU ? Looking at what they did to Johnny football and the weakness of the defensive backfield this year, , It might have been the best ever

It could have been our best D Line, but the new crop will be equal to them or greater!

Sucks that LSU is the only school to lose juniors to the draft. Oh wait. Sucks that LSU can't replenish its roster w/ new recruits and perhaps plug guys into starting roles who were highly-recruited and are ready to step up. Oh wait. Danielle Hunter. J. Rasco. Justin Maclin. Ego Ferguson. Freak Johnson. Mickey Thomas. Quinton Thomas. Herron. LaCouture. Gilmore. Neal. Beckwith. Debo. Lamar Louis. Tahj Jones. Feist. Alexander. Corey Thompson. Mills and Collins. Relax.

Disagree 2003 and 2011 backfield were light year better than this year which made the DL look good . This year they got no help

2003...may not have had the big names on it, but it spoiled me to the point where i was expecting a sack on every play.

that wasn't just the DL...that was the entire defensive scheme with its disguised blitzing

I've never seen a LSU d-line get the consistent pressure in the back field. The secondary looked very good because of that front 4. Cory Webster still proving he is talented. So i guess the question is what are the qualifying categories for the award. Is it just talent alone that warrants best D-Line? or is it results? or is it coaching/scheme?

We generated more pressure and gave up less rushing yards last season on 70 more rushing attempts than this year's team faced. Brockers was a huge advantage in the middle.

2011 was better with Brockers wreaking Havoc. Very little penetration from the tackles this year.

2011 or 2013.? Spears still in league 1st rounder. Hill was going to be a gr8 one in NE. RIP Lavalis was quicker off the ball than Brockers but Brockers is stronger Oliver didnt really pan out but Kyle Williams is still in the league and is considered very good in Buffalo. Oliver/Williams better than Logan/Ego Brockers slight edge over Lavalais Montgomery Spears even Mingo/Edwards better than Hill
