I'm looking for a healthy alcoholic beverage since I'm on a strict diet. I'm tired of impeding my diet by drinking beer. I can't have both.

I'm thinking Scotch and Wine would be the best alternatives. But I'm sure both are loaded with sugars. I can't stand vodka but is that really my only choice here? Thanks.

Gin. Juniper berries are good for you. Use diet tonic.

Really, other than the one glass of red wine a night for your heart, I've not heard of a healthy booze. I'd like to, though.

I was told that agave tequila with fresh squeezed lime and a splash of club soda makes a "healthy" margarita. It's called the "NorCal" margarita. It's pretty good. I usually added a splash of 100% (no sugar added) OJ to it as well just for a little more flavor.

Most hard liquor has little sugar, it's all been fermented out. That doesn't mean it doesn't have some calories. Mix that shite with soda or water to keep it as low cal as possible. Try subbing lime flavored sparkling water for tonic. You can get it at whole foods.

This is what I was thinking. I'm going to have to run by the store. I haven't had vodka in probably 8 years. Bad bad experience

alcohol = fermented sugars = calories

The mixers you use will have a lot more to do with "healthy" than the booze will.

This. If you are trying to avoid calories then avoid alcohol. Doesnt matter if its in beer, vodka, whiskey or wine.

Purely from a weight watchers perspective all of the distilled liquors are the same number of points, as is a glass of wine. All are 4 points.

Light beer is 4 points and regular beer is 5.

What I am getting at is that they are all the same from a weight perspective.

So, the mixers are the key.

Wrong. Juices are FULL of calories.

That doesn't necessarily equate to not healthy.

No wonder I've been developing a little bit of a beer gut since I turned 21. Too many of those craft beers that have 330ish calories each. A 6 pack can be a normal night of pregaming.
