So we could bring back George W. Bush. His leadership style would have been so much better during the debt ceiling talks and we wouldn't have been in this mess if he were here. Republicans really rally around him and we could have cut spending and taxes at the same time without raising any taxes, which was the responsible thing to do.

Agree, but Bush didn't deserve a 3rd Term.
He was a horrible President in the long run even though I think he was a good "leader", that can only get you so far.

A irony in these recent fiscal cliff negotiations is the Democrats love for the "Bush Tax Cuts". In fact the Democrats love the "Bush Tax Cuts" so much they have now made them permanent for +98% of the people. Only the top ~2% can't play in the permanent "Bush Tax Cut" sandbox because the Democrats are jelly of them. Overall in the long run, score a big win for Bush tax policy.

Also that they bash him for the prescription drug debacle, even though they wanted it to be much more than what actually got passed

Oh, and don't forgets the "Bush wars" that the Dems love to hate even though they voted for them, funded them, and continue to fight them while in charge and expand them into Libya, and threaten to expand them into Iran and Syria.

Another "irony" is that Republicans claimed the Bush tax cuts didn't add to the deficits but when Obama signs it, now it adds
3.9 trillion to the debt. Amazing how that works.

I'm pretty sure they (GOP) is claiming spending (especially entitlement spending) is adding to the deficit (thus debt). You'll see. The next big fight will be over spending when we have to increase the debt limit in a couple of months.

Sorta what I think. I liked him and thought he was the right man for the job post 9-11.
However, he was horrible with his economic policies and his style of dealing with the international community caused a lot of resentment.
