Peterson not only did not win it, he did not even get second. His reasoning is exactly what I have been saying regarding why not only Manning should win this year but why a QB should win every year until the end of time.

I think people are overlooking Aaron Rodgers this year.

I think the fact AP is doing what he's doing while NOT being at the QB position is more deserving of the MVP than what Manning (or any of the QBs for that matter) have done.

The guy carried his team to the playoffs from the RB position... Manning took over a playoff team with a pretty good defense.... AP by a slim margin for me.

Rodgers might have good stats, but he does not control the game the way Manning does

The run to put them in field goal range to get that crap team into the playoffs was brilliant. AD is the MVP in my book.

I'd be fine with Manning or AD winning it.

Denver got to playoffs last year and won a game without Manning.

so it's not the MVP...it's the MVQB

i'm not going to read that shite because I guarantee it's ridiculous reasoning. AD was his entire team this year. Manning was not.

Technically this guy doesn't vote, which he mentions in the article.

I wouldn't have a problem with either winning it. I hope all of these people indignant over the idea of Peterson not winning it were on the Jamal Lewis pain train in 2003:

Lewis: 2066 yards/5.3 yards per carry/14 TDs/10-6 team record and made the playoffs as a wild card No MVP
Peterson: 2097 yards/6.0 yards per carr/12 TDs/10-6 team record and made the playoffs as a wild card

The 2012 Broncos squad would have beaten the 2011 Broncos squad by at least 21 points. We've improved a ton.

If the Vikings had recently won the superbowl with mostly the same roster, I don't think there would be as much AD for MVP talk.

Minnesota's offense hardly improved this season. The difference in their record is almost solely due to their defense allowing 7 fewer points per game this season than last.

Then change the name of the damn award. If it's going to be a qb every year than just change it already. If a running back who gets 9 yards away from breaking the all time single season yardage record while having shite for a qb than I don't know what it would take

I agree, Manning was great! There is nothing like leading your team to a 2-3 record against the only winning teams on your schedule, or an 11 game winning streak against teams with a combined record of 59-85

Fair enough, but Denver's defense went from 20th last season to 2nd this season. Cuts both ways.

FWIW I have no problem with Peterson winning. I'd vote for him myself if I were a voter. I just get a little annoyed with some of the hyperbole from people on here

Adrain Peterson is by far the more valuable player for his team. He doesn't even have a decent QB. They should create a separate award for most valuable quarterback so people can get out of this mindset
