| It's over, Obama's done (Posted on 1/2/13 at 11:07 am)
Bad news: -Republicans caved on the cliff negotiations. -There will be no meaningful spending reductions -There will be no meaningful entitlement reform Good news: Outside of international affairs, Obama is a lame duck. He has spent his energy on this (and won) but will not be able to get anything else. Now maybe he gets some immigration reform (I hope), but that will only be because enough Republicans see the light and work with him on it. That's it. His empty platform will be turned into an empty agenda.

He will nominate at least two more supreme court justices...his warpath is far from over. Let's not forget we will likely be at war with Iran before he is done as well.

You may be the most delusional person on the board if you believe that. I'm actually of the opinion that he has shite canned the Republican Party from the face of American politics with what he has done to them since the midterms.

Hopefully he will nominate 2 white liberals who will not use their ethnicity to fulfill a personal agenda/make reparations for this country not being founded by latinos/blacks. Wait.

Obama is just getting started. You guys paint Obama as something he's not. All his policies are not anything different from any other Democratic President. So much GOP Drama!

I can see Ginsberg being replaced however I do not see anyone else leaving. Kennedy? About a 20% chance he leaves. I think he tries to stick it out for another 4 years. If this prediction holds true the balance of the court won't change. The best case for the GOP is for Kennedy to hold on and Rubio appoint his replacement in 2017. Yeah, I said it, Rubio.

Wrong. There is a lot more damage to be done by Obama. Immigration Gun ban Cap and Trade Destroying the coal industry State control of the auto industry Expansion of Obama Care into Mental Health issues Destruction of Israel Submission to the UN Wealth redistribution Stacking the Supreme Court for a generation He has plenty of issues remaining and he will win every one of them. This guy is amazing. He will likely go down in history as the most transformational President since FDR. Nothing can stop him. God help us.

Grover Norquist disagrees Though, the point about the Supreme Court appointments has merit.

Immigration - I hope this gets reformed Gun ban - Not going to happen Cap and Trade - Not going to happen Destroying the coal industry - Not going to happen by legislation. State control of the auto industry -Not going to happen by legislation. Expansion of Obama Care into Mental Health issues - Not going to happen by legislation. Destruction of Israel - Not going to happen Submission to the UN - Not going to happen Wealth redistribution - Not going to happen (more than it already has) Stacking the Supreme Court for a generation - fair point. He might do some damage via executive orders and other non-legislative actions. But that is pretty much the definition of a lame duck.

+1 Moreover, he along with demographic changes I don't know that the democrats will even be able to nominate a non-white for the office of the presidency in the foreseeable future. I think he is the most gamechanging president in history...at least since FDR.

Oh please, you give Obama too much credit. The republicans did it to themselves and they're like crack addicts--they just can't stop.

Sincerest form of flattery. There might be a touch of hyperbole/trolling going on in my OP. But I look at the campaign, his agenda, future trends, and past history of second terms and I do see a lame duck. Not saying he still can't cause trouble. He can still get us into trouble internationally, still put up federal appointees, still veto stuff, still screw up administratively, but no signficant legislation is going to come from him without Republicans being on board. I can only see that happening on immigration. His campaign platform was pretty much: 1. Raise taxes on the rich 2. ? 3. Profit Well, that's done. He spent his mandate. And in 2014, the repubs will pick up a few more seats.
