Per the WAFB article:
WAFB article

"The one bad throw that I had all night was right there and I really put the whole game on myself on really that one play. This whole year is going to eat at me throughout the whole offseason. I definitely didn't play how I really wanted to all year and I can promise to everybody out there no one's going to worker harder than I am on this team to try to put this behind me and go out and have a great senior year like I deserve," said Mettenberger."

Was that "the one" bad throw?

"going to work harder"--kind of Tebow-esque, but implies some slacking off this year. Either Mett is not as talented as all the hype, or he didn't work hard enough this year. He was mediocre at best (but had some great fun with his facial hair at mid-season!)

"I deserve"? Shades of JJ? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he meant "our team deserves."

I'm really trying to be sold on Mett, but honestly, even with the horrible line protection, he looks worse than most every QB I saw play over the holidays in the bowl games. I don't expect him to be Johnny Heisman, but neither should he be Hermann Munster.

Oh, well--on to next season--again.

1. You're reaching with a lot of your commentary
2. "the one" bad throw most definitely refers to 2nd and 2 overthrow of Landry.

I just don't know what to think...

Should the plaque go above Mett's bronze statue or at the base?

he was almost perfect on the very few passes that he had when there wasn't someone all over him. Mett is not the problem!

you're looking way too much into what a QB would normally say after a loss at the end of a season.

winner, winner chicken dinner.

This and our coaching staff apparently cannot develop a QB. I've never seen a group suck the talent out of a QB like this crew does.

I'm already over him. Not his attitude, but his piss poor accuracy.

One bad throw? I can think of three that essentially lost the game. Overthrowing Boone and Landry deep and then the 3rd and 2. And I don't want to hear how Boone had it. He should never have had to lay out for that pass. It should have dropped in his arms as he was walking in the end zone.

Mett sucks. I've come to grips with it. Unless he can get more accurate, he will suck again next year

So staying in the pocket and taking avoidable sacks is good for sustaining drives? I see.

Looks like the kid after his first season wants to improve and is not happy about his performance….

did you see how slow boone was coming out of his break on the move to the inside of the field on the replay. If he was a little more crisp on his route that ball is on the money

He is not a scrambler. You cant honestly tell me that the o-line didnt suck balls. A pocket passer has to have time to at least look down the field. Clemson's d-line had the best game of their season against our o-line

Half of these idiots that post on here have no concept how an offense works.

It takes all 11 guys.
Oline blocking, RBs picking up the right protection.. wrs running correct routes and a qb throwing the ball in the right spot.

Obv ZM is a better spot passer than he is improviser.
They have pass plays that are desingend to work certain way.. it only works if eveeybody pulls their weight and executes their responsiblity.

I've seen ZM this year make too many great throws to say he sucks or should be replaced by some fricking freshman who has as much exp playing qb as Russel Shep.

Many people that post here should really stick to what they know best... NCAA football 2012 on playstation3.

exactly! I wish all the receivers would put as much effort in running routes as Landry

I agree. At first I thought they were just unfortunate to have a string of busts in recruiting but at this point how could every single one of your QB recruits be a bust?

we pay attention to the LINEMEN and develop them...
QBs and Receivers seem to be an after thought by the coaching staff.

Mett says he's going to work harder in the offseason to be a better QB and you assholes trash him for it, typical LSU fans

Its just sloppy coaching. Nobody looks in sync. O-line has sloppy technique. Receivers look slow out of breaks and schemes are elementary. If they are gonna be so basic with the offense then they at least need to preach sound fundamentals!
