Last year.. after the BCS debacle, Shep was planning to go pro UNTIL.. Miles evidently talked him out of it. I wonder what Miles told him and I wonder if Shep could kick himself for not going ahead and going pro? How many times did he see the field this year on offense? Not counting kick-off and all that?

In sure Miles will make another passionate speech about supporting his players while he slips a knife into their backs.

I wish Shepherd could turn pro, I think he's been a great representative for the Tigers. I just don't think it will happen, though. I don't think coming back made any difference, either.

Don't you have to be good enough to turn pro?

It's okay because Miles is gonna find him and "kiss him on the lips!"

Could have got us 2 yards on an end around or something...

Averaged 8 yards per rush this year...and nothing...

Just another example of how much of an idiot we've got for a head coach..excuse me- a very lucky idiot.

I think Russel Sheppard regrets coming to LSU to play football. HE would have done better at Oregon.

Made no difference, last year or this year. If he should regret anything, it's coming to LSU. He would have been better suited for a smaller program. I hope he tries the NFL. I wish him all the luck in the world and I'm proud of his contributions to the university. He will always be a in the top tier Tiger alumnus in my book.

He did not fit in with this 1970's era offense.

I can't stand Mile$ as our coach - never have liked him.

But I don't get all the chatter about Shepherd. In four years he's accomplished exactly what that leads people to pine for him to be on the field for LSU?

And what on earth has he done that would lead people to think he's going to make the opening day roster of an NFL team?

i actually kinda agree with this. guy would be racking up 1000 yards every season in the pac-12. of course they would have probably actually found innovative ways to get him the ball

Doubt his draft stock changed at all if any by coming back or going last year. The combine will really determine where he goes IMO

Shep should have gone to Oregon. It's hard for me to say that considering I'm a tiger fan but Oregon would have used Him in the spread offense. He just didn't fit in LSUs offense

Exactly. I played against him in high school in Houston and I couldn't have been more excited for him to come to LSU. We led his team by 2 tds in the first quarter and within two minutes he single handedly tore us up and proceeded to destroy us the rest of the game. Can't help but feel bad for him to not develop such raw talent. Wish him the best though
