Why the lack of respect for Greivis?

He is averaging 13 and 8 and a half assists per game right now. But many seem to forget that he's still learning howto be a NBA point guard. He's going to improve his game. Now he will never be a star or a stud defensively, but he will grow into a more efficient player. And take into account the lack of scorers around him and he still gets the dimes. A true PG's role is to lead and set up his teammates. Greivis does that amd will on a consistent basis.
Everyone would love to have a star PG. Sure. But how many CP3s, DRoses, Westbrooks, Conleys, or Rondos are there for each team? Not many. Those guys are rare. So lets no put too much on GV right now and take a moment to appreciate the good play he is putting out there for his team and the fans.

I will like him much more when Eric Gordon is back, taking the ball out of Grieves' hands in crunchtime.
Sick of the ISO Hero ball plays he tries to make with the game on the line.

Agree that the 2 and 3 have been MUCH bigger problems for us so far this season. He's nothing special, but I like Vasquez and he's cheap. I'd like to see how Vasquez plays with 4 competent players around him, though if we land a guy like Iggy or Granger, we may be able to see him with 4 GOOD players around him.

A good PG isn't hard to find. shite, some teams have 2 good ones.
What GV has done has been admirable. He's passionate and always hustles. I respect that but don't want him as our starting pg

Looks like we are going to miss out on the bidding war for both of them by a year.
Granger's contract goes through 2014 and Iggy has a $15M player option for next year that he would be stupid to not exercise.
We for sure, have Lewis' $13M contract, Carroll's $3.5M, Aminus's $2.9M, Xavier's $2.3M, Mason's $1.2M, and McGuire's $719K coming off the books for next year.
Lopez has a team option for just over $5M over the next two years that I'm positive we are going to pickup.
Seems like we will have to make some sort of signing of note next season, especially considering the fact that we still have to convince Eric Gordon that we are going in the right direction before his player option in 2015 comes into play.

I'm not even going to comment on the rest of the list because all are borderline starters like Vasquez. Bledsoe may not be a lateral move, but would be way too expensive.
I'm sorry, but better point guards are harder to come by than you are implying.

We basically have about $40M in payroll returning next year by my estimations. Dell has room to play. I haven't looked at the free agent market the next 2 years, but we may not see the big signing until the 2014 offseason.

Because he gets assraped by any PG with any speed. He gets blown by on D and gets abused a lot by the press or trap.
That being said, he'd be a phenomenal backup. Hes a mediocre starter. He does a lot of nice things. But the thing he lacks the most is speed.

Iggy is having a bit of a down year, so you're probably right about his picking up the extra year. But I think each team will be looking to deal each player to a team that has the cap space to not have to send any (or very little) salary back. Nuggets will be at $72m and they have Brewer backing up Iggy. Pacers will be at $48m, but almost certainly will want to extend West, who is still playing at a high level. Plus I think George is more of a SF than a SG (which has sort of been playing). Checked it out about a week ago, and there are only about 3 other teams that will need a SF next season and have the cash to take on either Iggy or Granger without sending a decent amount of salary back. Even if we get Shabazz, I would be down for going after one of those two so as to mentor him for a bit, then go into a loaded 2014/15 FA with quite a bit of cap room.
Regardless of what happens with those two, we absolutely have to upgrade at SF next season.

At PG, you've got CP3, then a huge drop to the likes of Jack and Calderon.
At SF, there's Josh Smith if you want to consider him a SF. The rest are horrible. That's why I would like to trade for the likes of Iggy/Granger, who will improve our team quite a bit and be off the books in 2014.

People don't like him because he's a poor on the ball defender. It's not for lack of effort, he just lacks the lateral quickness.

Because he's really mediocre, and his pick and roll game is infuriating to watch

Defense and turnovers. He turns it over 20% of his possessions and has done so every year of his career. That is too much for any pg.
I will give him credit for improving his 3pt shot this year.

I'm extremely skeptical of this statement. He averages like 2 or 3 turnovers and 8 assists. Are those the only possessiins that count?

TO% is an estimate of TOs per 100 possessions.
Still not buying it. He does turn it over more than I like, but that number you are using is faulty and misleading.

so basketball reference is using faulty and misleading numbers because you just don't believe it?
what metric would you use?
