Never gotten into this before because it seems way too intense but was thinking about trying it out. Is it any fun and can you actually get a decent team without being able to play a million games or spend any real money? What's the best/quickest way to get some decent players?

Have you done that tutorial/intro list of objectives to get a free gold pack? If not, do that. Snagged Giroud, Zaccardo, and Sven Bender early on and rolled.

Caveat emptor: I have done various forms of damage to my controller and my apartment walls. Instead of rage quitting if you are getting torched by some a-hole with a team named Slave Labor that just uses African players, just turn off the TV and come back later. DNF multiplier is too crucial, plus you lose out on coins. Player morale doesn't get too affected by 7-0 losses.

I played some demo game and watched a tutorial but I only got 500 coins and used it to buy a bronze pack but all that seemed to do is just add another scrub to my team. Also, do you usually play against people or the computer? I'm in some tournament where I get 1,000 coins if I win but it's against the computer on like semi pro and it's way too easy even with my crap team vs. teams like Bilbao and Man City. I really have no clue what I'm doing. Should probably just stick to Manager Mode.

There's a thing called Manager Tasks somewhere in there. Do all of them. You've got to buy a new logo, kit, ball, stadium...win different things. You get a free gold pack for doing it.

The best way to get coins is to just play online seasons. You should get about 500 coins a game and around 5-10k each season. Other than that the best way is to buy a few packs and get lucky. You should never buy gold packs with coins though, only the 400 coin bronze packs if you need contracts. Honestly if you want to get a good team you either need to play at least 5 seasons or buy some packs with real money and get lucky.

No, there is no such thing as lucky. Those gold packs are shite. Spent 400 bucks on packs pulled 2 falco's and 1 RVP. That was even with the discounted packs by buying the EA sports perk. No Rooney, no Messi, no Ronaldo

In hindsight probably not a great investment.

Considering you bought binary code - yea it was a bad investment.

nice my current lineup: 4-1-2-1-2 Falcao, Adrian Cazorla Villa, Jesus Navas Arteta Coentrao, Samuel, Koscielny, Juanfran Howard Wishlist: Pedro for Villa (about to pick him for free from a friend), Ozil for CAM, Khedira for CDM, Neuer for Keeper, formation modifiers for remaining hangups

on fifa 12, my first or second pack i got in form lahm. Eventually sold him for 125k, which set up everything. This year i pulled a benzema pretty early on and got 70k for him. This year is easier because you can get like 7k on average every ten games for doing well in a season. Buying a lot of gold packs hoping to pull a messi is a complete waste of money though.

I spent roughly $40 on packs and sold my 700k coins I worked to get for about $200. Then I made my beast epl team for about 20k 4-3-3 ------reina------ Sagna-koscielny-vermaelen-baines -dembele/diaby-fellaini-cabaye- -ben arfa-cisse/chicharito-ox

yeah i probably woln't end up selling them, but i was just surprised when i looked up prices on a website the other day that the amount of coins i had was worth potentially more than what i put into it. I never sold my coins from fifa 12, which was pretty dumb.

I just did the live auction thing and bought a shite ton of mid 70's to low 80's gold players for like 200-400 coins a pop. the key is keeping all those frickers' contracts up to date.

Do not spend a single coin on a player until you know which formation you are playing at what league or country you want to be the foundation of your squad. Once you figure that out (I'm doing 4-3-3 EPL) then only buy the players from that country/league in the formation you use. I would play with whatever squad you first recieve for a good bit before you start buying players. You only need about 10k to make a decent 4.5-5 star team (my team is about 15-20k) Pro tip: Play the computer tournaments, never play the computer in a quick match. In a tournament and quick match you get the same amount of coins, but in tournys you have the bonus at the end

this also become very comfortable/proficient using the auction search so you don't screw yourself. And if a bunch of players are the same buy now price, flick over to where it shows their # of contracts and fitness, sometimes you can get a player with 30+ contracts for the same price as someone with 7 or less. Finally, i would recommend getting the expanded consumable size thing from the eas fc catalogue on the main menu.
