they spend a few minutes talking about this and they completely just glance over the fact that there is a real investigation going on and that 4-5 people were implicated. the slanted presentation continues

again...what is the end goal? i keep asking this and i don't ever get a clear answer

Watch the video that has a policeman on the pic. This local news station is finally trying to dig up dirt. I guess CNN is in Steubenville right now.

that's sort of backfired

CNN article

quote:

The case has been complicated by a lack of physical evidence -- the family did not report the alleged assaults until August 14. It also apparently hinges largely on witness statements, social media images and messages posted after the incident and possibly some information gleaned from cell phones seized by police. The family gathered many of the materials and delivered them to police on a portable computer drive, McCafferty told CNN.

Police have heard of a video showing the alleged attack, McCafferty said. But authorities don't have it or know whether it even exists, he said.

Police did seize several cell phones and iPads during the investigation, and "there was evidence on some of the phones," McCafferty said without elaborating.

quote:

The attorney for the girl's family told CNN that the girl is in counseling and is "doing as well as one can expect."

"She's trying to go about her life right now, which is difficult because of all the media attention," Fitzsimmons said. "It's as if she's just flown into this barnstorm. She'll make it through."

Speaking on CNN's "AC360," he said: "I think we lose sight; this is a 16-year-old girl. She's a high school kid, basically."

Huff Po Article

quote:

"A right to a fair trial for these young men has been hijacked," Madison said, adding that social media episodes such as this have become a major threat to a criminal defendant's right to a fair trial.

"It's very, very serious and fairness is essential to getting the right decision here," he said.

quote:

"This media has become so astronomically ingrained on the Internet and within that society, I am concerned witnesses might not want to come forward at this point. I would be surprised now, if there weren't witnesses now who might want to start taking the Fifth Amendment," Nemann told the station.

I havent posted in awhile, been working 12's, but Im sure everyone is seeing this story on all the news stations. Nancy Grace is covering it tonight and Anderson Cooper has an interview with KYanonymous either tonight or tomorrow night. The kid who was in the 12 min video was kicked out of Ohio State. And also, the White House has received 25,000 sigs for them to look at this case and to decide whether it should go to the Supreme Court.

trial is going on now

basically everything that anon claimed was wrong

1. the prosecution used the witnesses that anon harassed. these kids are the ones who weren't prosecuted...BECAUSE THEY WERE GIVEN IMMUNITY TO TESTIFY AGAINST THEIR frickING FRIRNEDS

2. yesterday, the prosecution used a state data expert to read off hundreds of text messages. anon claimed that the police weren't getting this information. again, completely wrong

3. there wasn't a rape as much as the girl may have been fingered. this was NOT the implication of the anon videos. this is technically a rape under Ohio law, but knightsec claimed MUCH worse

4. the defense hasn't presented yet, but the core of their defense IS THE WAR IN SOCIAL MEDIA. so the only actual defense that is being offered was created solely thanks to that stupid blogger and anon

Wait til the trial is over before we know all the truths. So all the pics of the girl with semen on her were from other things, not rape?
I suppose that the texts you've read makes you think these guys are innocent?
No matter what the outcome is, these guys will be charged with rape. Whether by hand or by other parts. The court was kinda dumb giving the 2 guys they gave immunity to, immunity. The one guy was the one who made the long video cracking jokes, right?
Btw, the police didnt recover the text messages. BCI or whatever its called did
And the coach and the cover up which was said to have happened, looks to be true. And that was just brought up in court yesterday. Guess Anon was right on that one.

the prosecution's case was based on her being fingered, so i don't know where this is coming in

where did i say they were innocent?

quote:

these guys were the foundation of the state's case. without them, there is no evidence that there was rape

quote:

Btw, the police didnt recover the text messages. BCI or whatever its called did

as is standard procedure, for a variety of reasons

yeah there was a thread on it earlier today where people kept, sadly, posting that there was some coverup

if this trial showed anything, it's that there was no coverup at all, and the only parties disrupting the investigation were the "internet vigilantes" who riled up the masses and tainted the flow of truthful information
