Agree with this. If we get some upgrades at reciever and Miles "lets" Mett pass early in the season, we could be pretty good.

Yeah, lets bash Lee who was most efficient SEC QB for his time in 1st half season.

Lee had his moments, but Alabama was his Kryptonite.

Tell us how efficient he was in the first meeting last year or for his career against them?

LSU ranked second in the SEC in passing eff. after the first Alabama game and at the end of the season LSU ranked second in the SEC.

So, what's the big fricking concern you have over the LSU P/E?

I guess this means the opposite. Each time Miles says something like this, it ends up being the complete opposite.

"Best offensive line ever" turned into the worst offensive line in recent memory.

Same can be said for Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida etc...

We will see if Miles' Model T offense can improve on the 180 points it scored in the SEC this year.

Ole Piss and Miss. St. had better offenses than we did this year.

Solid post....Perfect analogy. Except for a few moments, the offense is a model T trapped in the present!

Yet anyone that recognizes the Model T is accused of being negative for seeing it for what it is. Wish we had a Corvette! Hell, Id even settle for a Chevette or a Pinto.

Those same words have been used countless times over the last 4 years! Don't count on it!

After all I am a Les Miles Supporter and have been before he said those famous words in 2007 to the little ESPN Pip-Squeek!
He had Les Miles going to Michigan!

Then, One Month later Les was doing this!

Great players have come and gone under Les on the offensive side of the ball. None of that matters unless Les lets the OC call the plays and gets the hell out of the way. He will forever keep it conservative and underutilize the amazing talents he has at his disposal. Yes, on paper we may have the best offense in 2013 but if Les has it his way you will not get to see just how good these players really are.

Let's see, listen to you or listen to the coach with the most wins in the SEC since 2005?

You lose BIG TIME!

I agree with that. Mett was coming around towards the end of the season. We'll be getting some upgrades at reciever also. O-line looks like it's going to be bigger and meaner than ever. Hill is a beast at RB. Offense can't help but be good next season.

I agree with the poster not the coach. I share the sentiments of cautious optimism with Mett's noticeable progression over the course of the season. I'm not confident that Miles will be as comfortable with the talent of the players as I am and that he will shoot us in the foot by playing too cautious and conservative. I hope, however, that I am wrong.

Who cares about Alabama? We'd have rolled them every time we've played them recently if everyone wasn't so terrified of them. And by everyone I mostly mean coaches, but this has definitely trickled down to fans and maybe the players?

Yeah, that's Miles----Mr. Conservative.

You really have no clue do you.

85-20, 49-19, and six Top 10 teams out of eight tell anyone who doesn't have their head stuck up their arse that Miles is shooting better than any other coach in LSU history and 99% of the coaches around since 2005.

didn't we hear this type of stuff after 1/9. we heard our offense was going to be different this year. We did have injuries but even once we got going les pulled the reigns back in the arky game.

It did change. I dont think an LSU qb had attempted 30 passes in one game since 08. We threw the ball a lot more this year. We actully have used the full back a lot more over the past 2 seasons compared to 08 and 09. With the oline we were using 2 rbs in the shotgun more than i have seen in the past under miles. The read option is basically gone because we dont have a mobile qb. Not nearly as many designed runs as JJ got or even rp or flynn.

Anyone not blind knows LSU threw the ball for a higher per game average than since the 07 season.

Since the Bama game, Mett averaged almost 275 yds a game throwing the ball.

I'm not going to look it up, but I'm pretty sure a 275yd average for LSU has rarely if ever been put up in a 4 game period.

But yet some want to act as if it was run, run, and run some more.

I'm not saying we win everything but it's a little early to predict a 3 loss season don't you think? I think this young team shows great promise.

still needs to learn to mix it up a little better. We threw more but are still way to predictable. Throwing on 2nd or 3rd down and short (or even 4th down) should not be a complete oddity.
