With everything going batshit crazy on sales it may be time to start up a machine shop and make lowers Hell i bet you could pay off a $300k CNC in under 3 months.

Exactly what I was thinking. Cost of machine, materials, labor, overhead, inventory space and shipping?

You're forgetting the costs of fines and legal fees when you get busted illegally producing firearms

What if we just make "paper weights"

Can't control what people do with them.

We have manual mills and lathes but it wouldn't be very time efficient.

True, I should include that there is probably a license or fee to operate in a legit fashion...

Why not just go into a machine shop and get them to fab you one? I used to work in a small machine shop that made everything from castings to paddle sensors for the oil field and we used to have tons of dudes off the street that needed 5 or so parts that we would fab for them. The costs hit you on the set up for the CNC programming, not the actual CNC time.

I think that you can make them to 80% and not need the firearm manufacturing license. The last 20% is what can get you into trouble unless you have all the permits...
