if you ever plan on carrying a small revolver in your jacket pocket or something like that, I'd take a hard look at a hammerless one.

Taurus not a good brand? You've had experience personally?

I looked into the hammerless ones, I prefer one with a hammer.

Can I get a reason why you would pass?

Doesn't matter. Buy it and several other ones that match it.

I already have a Glock at home, along with a rifle, and shotgun. I was looking for a small, reliable revolver to keep in my car, and possibly on my person. I was hoping for more detailed opinions than "pass" or :smh:

just clicked your link and saw it was a revolver. I haven't shot one of their revolvers before, but supposedly they're better than the rest of their handguns

I'd still be weary though. I'd pay a little extra and get a brand with a better reputation. You could get it and tell us how it is though

I probably will. Im getting a good deal on it from my buddy that owns a gun store. Im going to pick that up, along with a few boxes of bullets for it, and for my glock. I'll be sure to let you guys know how I like it.

Taurus is not know for great quality when it comes to their firearms.

The revolvers are better than the semi line they sell.

And they come with a life time warranty if I am not mistaken.

That changes things then. My Dad always told me "The deal's made when you buy something, not when you sell it". If you're getting it for cheap enough and you don't like it, you could always get your money back.

They do. I've talked to a few "gun" guys, and they all said that I should get it, but I wanted to know the opinion of the OD board.

I would much rather have a cheap revolver than an average automatic pistol any day of the week.

Not a bad pick for an inexpensive revolver. I have a Model 85 Titanium .38 that shoots great.

I personally would go with a S&W or a Ruger. However, there's nothing wrong with buying the Taurus, as long as you put it to the test, which you should do with any gun you plan to carry. If it functions fine, than you can keep it and trust it. If not, then you can get rid of it, and get something else. You'll probably lose a little money but that's how it goes.

Contrary to popular belief, revolvers don't always "go bang every time." They're mechanical devices that are subject to fail, although it's not very likely...

I wanted a S&W, but he offered me this deal when he realized he was out of the S&W, and the S&W cost a good bit more.

I feel like revolver brands are a little bit more of a level playing field than semi autos

I have a Taurus semi-auto that I use for CC, and I have never had a problem with it. I would look into hammerless if I was going with a small revolver, especially if reliability is what you are looking for.
