Im thinking Les Miserables...
The tragedy that happened may have people not wanting to see the violence of Django...around that time.
Both should do well though.
Here is a little Django Unchained vs. Les Miserables teaser though.
Fantine vs. Stephen

There people that are willing to go see Django Unchained alone.
Nobody is going to see Les Miserables alone.
Les Miserables is your winner.

I'll go with Django. Seems to be getting talked about, outside of hollywood circles, a little more.
Fwiw, until a few months ago, The Great Gatsby was supposed to come out on Christmas day, too

Les Mis because people are familiar with the story.

Yeah, I think Les Mis rolls. Way more women will go see that. Django won't be a date movie

Family all out of town. I can't think of anything I rather do then see Django. Don't care if I am alone.

Les Mis will win handily because it doesn't alienate potential viewers. The gratuitous violence and vitriolic nature of the subject matter of Django Unchained automatically handicaps it. That being said, I'll be seeing Django and waiting on seeing Les Mis outside of theaters.
I'm probably alone in this, but I'm not convinced Django Unchained is going to be a huge commercial success. I hope it is, it certainly deserves to be from what I've read, and I want it to be, but it's just so incredibly polarizing. So maybe not a huge commercial success in theaters, but it will certainly be a huge critical hit and will probably sell boatloads on DVD/Blu-Ray. Just my opinion.

I want to see both, probably prefer Django over Les Mis. But I know more than a couple girls that want to see Les Mis, so maybe I'll have to go see it more than once
So yeah Les Mis wins the box office (not on Christmas day, but overall)
