Just finished this build friday and shot it Saturday. 300blk suppressed sbr. Damn it's quiet and accurate too.

Ive decided on a mega upper/lower receiver, noveske 16" inch 5.56, geissele trigger. magpul stock and grip. What do i need to know when it comes to selecting a hand guard (I know I'm free floating) and BCG?

BCM 16" upper w/charging handle & BCG $510 OR Sionics upper with BCG, charging handle and rear sight $565
Sionics complete lower w/ ALG QMS trigger, H buffer, Ergo grip and MOE stock $305 OR PSA complete lower $130
Magpul MLOK handguard $35
Rear sight $50
Front sight $35
The above is under $1k, using the PSA lower makes it well below $1k
Here is a RDS option just in case
PA Arms RDS with mount $110
Sionics complete lower w/ ALG QMS trigger, H buffer, Ergo grip and MOE stock $305 OR PSA complete lower $130
Magpul MLOK handguard $35
Rear sight $50
Front sight $35

Would it be better to build that rifle or buy a Windham SRC like a guy that works for me has and has been raving about?

You would end up with a much better rifle by grabbing what I posted. All you would have to do is put the bcg in and snap the upper and lower together.

Anyone have any experience ordering from Midwest Industries? Placed an order two weeks ago and still haven't gotten any info on shipping cost or status, and no responses to two emails requesting that information.
